The Combe Martin area
Combe Martin is a small resort situated in a sheltered valley at the western fringe of the Exmoor National Park. The town is located in some of the most outstanding coastal scenery in the area. Combe Martin offers spectacular views across the bay to the dramatic headlands beyond and a peaceful cove with boats moored in the harbour have changed little over time.
It is the perfect location for a family holiday, with large expanses of golden sand accessible at low tide and its own sheltered sandy cove. The nearby countryside and coastline has numerous footpaths and bridleways for walking and riding. There is a range of places to see and things to do in and around Combe Martin, from visits to the Motorcycle Museum to the Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park. A plethora of pubs abound, including the aptly named Pack O' Cards - visit the tiny museum in the grounds and discover the history of this delightful pub.

Guestbook for The coach house
Review for The Coach House and Grove,
Combe Martin, North Devon
Sept 14 /October 12 2010
Carmel Fowers and Michael Britton
My husband and I stayed in the Coach House for one month in September/October 2010. It was a great time to experience the beauty of the North Devon countryside and the many charms of Combe Martin which truly is an Area of Outstanding Beauty.
The Coach House was wonderfully situated in a quiet lane off the main road into town. We did not have a car and we thought it was perfectly positioned in a lovely neighbourhood and only a short walk down the hill into the village and beach and all the town’s facilities. Being up a hill we could even see a patch of ocean from both levels of the house and the big garden. The bus stops were nearby. Best of all it was very close to the Southwest Coast walking path and there were other paths that sprouted off into the woods and back of the town nearby. We often walked into Ilfracombe on the coast path and caught the bus home.
We loved the Coach House immediately. It was modern, spacious and decorated with flair and a personal touch. The open plan living room kitchen with big suede and leather couch, big cushions and large flat screen TV was great for chilling out after a day’s walking or beaching. The kitchen was modern and had everything we needed for easy meals. There was plenty of storage, lovely wood floors and rugs and lots of homey touches such as original artwork and objet d’art around the suite all in rich warm colours. The suite had the most beautiful luxurious drapes in gorgeous fabrics and we loved the big leather bed and beautiful linens.
The bathroom was modern, bright and luxurious the bedroom was spacious. We really enjoyed the skylights in the upper floor rooms. There was a big walk-in wardrobe and plenty of cupboards and drawers.
The owner Jane and caretaker Bev were kind and accommodating and very helpful in every way. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the Coach House. It’s a perfect place for couples and there is much to do and see in the area.
P.S. We also stayed in the Grove a night or so and it is a very nice suite for families.
