Vine Ridge is reachable within 1 hour from Malaga and situated less than 1 mile up a typical Andalucian track just below the beautiful 'Blanco'village of Comares .It has been designed to take full advantage of the 'Breathtaking' views which take into account both the Mediterranean and also the Rugged Mountain Ranges .'Vine Ridge' Studio and Apartment are flexible , comfy and well equipped self contained units which are 'Excellent Value' in stunning surroundings . The accommodation includes use of a 'Roman ' stepped swimming pool from which the Mediterranean can be seen and also the peaks of Mount Maroma. There is also an outdoor shower.
All 3 accommodations have plenty of terraces,outdoor tables and seating and from wherever you look you will see another view, which is appropriate as we located on the 'Buena Vista' walking route with it's amazing views of Mediterranean and the Mountain ranges.

This light and airy Apartment opened in 2009 sits high on a hill with views to the Mediterranean and across to the mountains, it includes the following zones:
A double bedroom area romantically styled and completed curtained off, with the added touch of atmospheric lighting.
The family kitchen area is of 'Spanish style'-curtained and colourful and above all fully functional and includes the following : 4 ring gas hob, fridge , toaster, kettle , microwave, plenty of cutlery , crockery and cooking utensils .
The family table has been purposely positioned to allow the dining experience to incorporate the stunning views from the picturesque patio doors.
The living area comprises comfy seats from where you can relax and read 1 of the many books available or watch the Sky Television or a DVD.
The bathroom has a large mosaic tiled shower!

There is a Roman stepped 8 x 4 m swimming pool available for all guests to use. There is an outdoor shower and large bbq for customers to use.
The views are outstanding and although all 3 rentals get to use the lovely pool, you all tend to get your own time at Vine Ridge as other guests go off walking, site seeing or savouring the tastes, sounds and vino of nearby Comares.

The balance is due 6 weeks prior to your arrival date.Please note we are happy to accept Euro's at the current exchange rate , which we can advise on.
We are happy for smokers to smoke outside whilst have a beer or wine from the outdoor fridge and ashtrays will be provided, but please do not smoke inside any of the rentals.
The Andalucia / Malaga Province region
The region is bordered to the north by the rocky Alfanarte Mountain range, and to the south by the sea at Torre del Mar - a short 25 min drive through the olive and almond groves.
This area is also rich in fruit such as mango, avocado, orange and lemon groves along the route to the sea. Many of the olive trees are over 1000 years old and date back to the Roman period.
The coast offers a choice of towns from Malaga in the east to Nerja in the west, the beaches are long and largely empty and the towns have all the nightlife and shopping you could want.
The Comares area
Comares sits over 700 meters above sea level and has been named in Arabic as “Hins Comrix” which means “Castle on High”.
It is also a town steeped in history and very rich in culture.
It was home to a Muslim rebel leader named Omar ben Hafsum in 9th century AD. And this history of Muslim occupation is still evident in the village today with its inscribed stonework, watch towers, whitewashed houses and narrow cobblestone streets.
A Parish church which was built way back in the 16th century is certainly worth a look. There are also several bars, supermarkets, plazas, a post office and a bank to cater to locals and the few tourists who are lucky enough to have found this great haven.

We staying for 3 nights during mid April. The weather was fantastic, for the time of year, reaching the early 20's - we were even able to cool off with a quick dip in the pool!
Arriving at nighttime, we were able to wake up the next morning to discover the beautiful views and watch the sun rise.
Jacqui and David had provided everything we needed on arrival for our first breakfast including milk and tea bags for a much needed cup of tea!
We stayed in the apartment at Vine Ridge which we found welcoming, very comfortable and provided all we needed.
As we were only having a short break we didn't want to be spending too much time at the supermarket. Jacqui and David have a store with food and drinks perfect for a short holiday at very reasonable prices. This made life very easy and enabled us to relax quickly.
We enjoyed walking up to Comares in the sunshine and had lunch and a glass of wine in the town. Once again, wonderful views from the top.
A visit to the beach, at Jacqui and David's recommendation, made our second day very enjoyable. Fantastic weather, plenty of beach restaurants to choose from and,as it is a spot popular with the Spanish, it was not crowded.
Overall we had a fantastic short break and would love to return for a longer holiday.
