Watermill | 2 bedrooms | sleeps 2
Nestled on the edge of a picturesque village beside a stream, our lovingly restored mill is set in an area of outstanding natural beauty with the 'Parco dei Cento Laghi' virtually on your doorstep and within easy reach of the Ligurian coast and stunning Cinque Terre.
The mill was originally built in 1756 and was used for grinding chestnuts into flour. However, around the middle of the last century it had become home to a family of nine children. Achille, who lived there as a young boy, still remembers watching his Nonno, who was a shoemaker, mending and selling shoes from his workshop at the front of the mill. Hence the name 'Il Calzolaio'.
Following careful and extensive restoration of the mill, Il Calzolaio is now a beautiful apartment from which to explore this unspoilt corner of Tuscany. With its exposed stone walls, wood beamed ceilings and terracotta floors, much of its original charm and character has been retained. The comfortable living room has two sofas, dining table and chairs and a large selection of videos, books and games for you to enjoy. The kitchen area is well equipped with a washing machine and dishwasher, and some cookery books have been provided so you can try out some Italian recipes. From the living room, French doors lead onto a terrace with a delightful view looking out over to the medieval footbridge and the stream, perfect for breakfast on sunny mornings and dining al fresco after a day's sightseeing. Stairs lead up to a double bedroom with a charming en suite bathroom and views up to the village and castle. There is also a family bathroom and a pretty and characterful twin bedroom.

"So relaxing and beautiful!"
I stayed in this accommodation for a week with 3 friends and had an amazing time!
So beautiful and calming, yet lots to do in the surrounding areas to keep yourself busy!
Such a cute cottage vibe yet modern, lovely river that passes by the end of the garden which is lovely to listen to when eating dinner out on the balcony!
Would highly recommend!!
