The West Country / Devon region
Maidenhayne Farm Cottage is situated on the outskirts of the lovely East Devon village of Musbury, which has its own shop/post office, church, garage and country Pub, all within walking distance.
The area is one of outstanding natural beauty, and the cottage nestles in unspoilt countryside, making an ideal base for exploring the Jurrassic coast and the countryside of Devon, Somerset and Dorset.
Colyton / Musbury area
Close by there are numerous footpaths and green lanes to take you off the beaten track. Within a ten minute drive you can be taking in the breathtaking views of World Heritage Coastline or visiting the charming villages os Beer or Branscombe. Charmouth beach is famous for its fossils and Lyme Regis for its picturesque streets and the VCobb that protects the ancient Harbour.
Bird watchers can visit the nature reserves at Axmouth and Budleigh Salterton to see herons, cormorants, kingfishers and a wide variety of ducks and waders. For Garden lovers Forde Abbey and the tropical gardens of Abbotsbury are a must, not to mention the famous Abbotsbury Swannery .
There are plenty of places to shop. Honiton, famous for its lace making and antiques and the elegance os Regency Sidmouth are only twenty minutes away .Taunton , and the Cathedral city of Exeter are just forty minutes away.
The younger members of the family will not let you miss the fun of Creally adventure park, or the Pecorama train exhibition . The Donkey sanctuary at Sidmouth is world famous,l and the Wildlife centre at Offwell is also close by .
How to get there
Maidenhayne Farm Cottage is easy to reach from the M5 Motorway or from the A303 via the A358 at Ilminster. Axminster railway station is just 3 miles away with a good train service from London.
By road from Axminster take the A358 to Seaton and Lyme Regis. As you enter the village of Musbury take the first turning to the right into Maidenhayne Lane. Turn right into the car park signed to Maidenhayne Farm Cottage.

Further details indoors: The large but cosy sitting room has a wood burning stove, television, video, DVD, radio and a CD player. An initial supply of logs is supplied for the wood burning stove .
The kitchen/dining room is well equipped , complete with electric cooker, washer, dryer, microwave, dishwasher, fridge freezer, and an iron and ironing board
The master bedroom , with a four poster bed, has an en-suite shower room with toilet and a wash hand basin. There is a remote controlled TV and a hair dryer.
There are two further bedrooms with twin beds and a family bathroom which has a good sized bath and an electric shower, as well as a toilet and a wash hand basin.
There is a range of children's equipment including a stair gate, a baby monitor, a high chair, and travel cot available at no extra cost.
Well behaved pets are welcome.
All linen is supplied and costs include gas and electricity.
