The Dairy at Barritshayes is set in a stunning location, nestling amongst the hills of rural East Devon and yet only a few minutes from the Jurassic coast at Lyme Regis, Seaton, Beer, Branscombe and Sidmouth. We have excellent facilities for both families and couples with our superb outdoor heated pool (open May to end Sept), games room, tennis court and plenty of outside space with fantastic views. We also have another 2 bedroomed cottage, The Granary and Swallows cabin for two.

The 4* Dairy is very well equipped with a private garden and barbeque, free wifi, dishwasher, washing machine and new bathroom. Perfect for couples and families, we offer a warm welcome and include little extras which we think might help such as household and toiletry goods, welcome pack and lots of small touches which we hope will enhance your stay and ease the packing before you arrive! Well behaved pets are very welcome. There are a wide variety of beautiful walks from our doorstep including along the East Devon Way and along the towering cliffs of the Jurassic coast at Beer, Branscombe and Lyme Regis.

The West Country region

East Devon is a bit of a hidden gem, a truly beautiful area with a stunning coastline and fishing villages such as Beer and Branscombe and the wonderful elegant coastal towns of Lyme Regis and Sidmouth. Colyton itself is a small town with a huge history. Originally Saxon, it has a network of streets and pretty thatched cottages, a lovely historic church and The Seaton Tramway station which takes you alongside the Axe Estuary through the Seaton Marshes conservation area and on to the seaside town of Seaton.

East Devon is known to be the driest part of Devon with less rainfall than the west. There are many attractions nearby including The Donkey Sanctuary and Pecorama model railway centre in Beer. We are also a perfect location for a stay when visiting Hugh Fernleigh-Whittingstall's River Cottage in Axminster.

Carnival season starts towards the end of the summer and is a sight to behold. The carnival floats are brightly lit and flamboyant and the atmosphere is amazing. There are festivals and carnivals in most of the towns and villages including 'Tar Barrels' in Ottery St Mary where burning barrels are run down the street until they fall to pieces and can't be held any longer!

Colyton

There are many pretty villages and small towns in our area and being located near to the coast and in an 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty' we enjoy the best of both worlds. Pubs and eateries abound in the area and we can always provide tips to our favourite places. The lace and market town of Honiton is just a few miles away with a wide high street lined with interesting individual shops, with antiques featuring heavily and an assortment of restaurants and pubs. There is a very popular street market twice a week throughout the year
