The Mill
About the home
Why choose The Mill?
Renovated in 2009, the Mill is our very own Grand Design.
The Mill at Dunmuck (gaelic= hill of the wild boar) is a converted stone barn, and part of a small farm steading typical of the area.
The conversion was carried out in 2009 and finished to a very high standard, with a double height living area, smart kitchen and great eco credentials. The Mill is warm throughout, with underfloor heating from an air source heat pump, whole house heat recovery system solar panels, LED lighting and induction hob. When you just want to curl up in front of the fire there is also an Esse woodburning stove/ cooker.
The Mill is light and spacious with wall of sliding glass doors opening west onto the garden to make the most of the sun and views across the wooded valley. Watching the sunset change the whole house pink is beautiful, wait a few hours and see thousands of stars twinkling overhead.
There is a master bedroom, double sofa bed in the living room and a loft bedroom of two singles which is reached by outside steps.
The Mill has its own large enclosed garden and parking. There is a trampoline, games room with table tennis and beyond the garden 90 acres of small farm, woods, lochans and a small river to explore.
The Mill is fully equipped and the only amenity shared with the house is a laundry.

Lovely bright comfortable accomodation in a beautiful part of Scotland. Peaceful location with numerous attractions nearby especially for walking and cycling. Great bird-watching and natural history location with red squirrels providing regular entertainment. Very hospitable owners. We will definitely return. |

We had a super holiday at the mill and can't wait to return. The owners should be proud of a great conversion that is practice and very stylish. The surrounding area is beautiful and our three young children thoroughly enjoyed exploring the area around the mill as well as trips out around Dumfries and Galloway. Great days were had at cream of Galloway, kircudbright, Dalton pottery and Rockcliffe beach . |
