About the home

A luxury 3-bedroom villa that sleeps up to 7 persons with 2 double beds and 2 single beds and a put-u-up bed. Furnished to European standards with 4 wetrooms – all en-suite and fully air-conditioned. Ideal for families or couples sharing. There is a fully fitted, well equipped kitchen for those who prefer self catering, however, as food and drink is very cheap in Goa, you may prefer to eat out at any one of the excellent restaurants or beach shacks which can be found in Colva or along any of the beaches.

Colva is only 1km from the nearest beaches so whether you prefer a more relaxing, quieter time at Baywatch Beach or a more lively scene at Colva Beach, Danika Residency is the perfect place to stay.

Taxis, scooters, cycles or car hire can be arranged if required. Tours can also be arranged upon request.

The Goa / West India / Goa region

Goa is located on the West Coast of India. Within Goa, Colva is situated in the South, 35 minutes drive from Dabolim Airport and a 10 minute ride from Margao, the second largest city in Goa and a centre for travel and commerce. Local and Western goods are available and you will also find banks and Internet cafes. The town has an excellent market area along with a Bazaar that is a labyrinthine covered area that's a rich source of authentic souvenirs and a good place to browse for some bargain shopping.

Explore along the South Goa coastline with its stunning white sands and blue seas and you can find many empty peaceful coves for that true 'Touch of Paradise'. To get a sense of the history of South Goa take a tour to Old Goa with its fascinating temples and churches or visit the Spice Farm and help to bathe the elephants. The waterfalls at Dudhsagar are also a very popular where you can feed the monkeys and then take a jeep ride through the National Park before cooling off in the natural lake at the bottom of the falls.

For the holiday you will never forget, mix the mysterious experience of India with the sub-tropical beauty of Goa on the Arabian Coast.

Summer in Goa is from mid-March until the end of June. The monsoon period is June-September when approximately 250cm to 300cm of rain can be expected. Winters are from late November to mid February with maximum temperatures of around 26 degrees. The Arabian Sea stays warm all year round, ranging from 25-35 degrees.

The Colva area

Colva is a small village in south Goa on the shores of the Arabian Sea with its beautiful beaches. It lies 39 km away from Panaji, capital of the Indian state of Goa.

The church in Colva is famous for its annual religious event—Fama of Menino Jesuse (Child Jesus)—since the 17th century. The predominantly Catholic community celebrates it on the third Monday of October every year. It is one of Goa’s most popular feasts and a big fair is held on the occasion at Colva. Christian, Hindu and Muslim festivals are celebrated in Goa throughout the year which gives Goa an almost non stop party atmosphere.

If you like to shop for a bargain whilst enjoying the beach and beach restaurants offering a variety of very good Goan dishes and seafood, as well as western foods, all cooked to order, then take a trip to Anjuna's famous fleamarket held every Wednesday. Enjoy the sights and sounds of the colourful and exotic night markets where one can buy locally made, hand-crafted artifacts, antiques as well as european goods. The trinket stalls,the food and drink stands and the live music, on the golden sands, under the moonlight make the evening utterly romantic.

For the more daring there are various types of watersports along Colva Beach including paragliding, jet-skiing, and boat trips to see the dolphins close up in their natural habitat. Dolphin-watching is extremely popular and a great way to experience them is on an early-morning cruise along the River Sal.
