The Western Province region

The Western province of Srilanka is the hub of the economy of the country.

Though rapidly changing, you still find familys like ours who have been living on the same land over generations, seen things

changing and revolving around but resisting the new world order.

We can afford to do that because of our autonomy, closely knit familly life, and being able to isolate us with enough land area as bumper.

We are very rear people who grow our own rice on our own land in Homagama.

We can recount you how it was 50 years ago, who was who and how it gradualy changed.

At Aranga-La, You still can walk out in to the midst of a city and in a short time insulate your self in a coconut palm fringed

garden when you had enough.

Aranga-La is a unic experience for the curious traveler.

Colombo

Bi-weekly market, hiking, river kayaking , cycling, and enjoying a sea bath at Mount Lavinia beach is some of the stuff you can do any time and any day while at Aranga-La.

"Unforgettable memories !!!"

The service was excellent from the beginning until the end. When we arrived we were welcomed with coconuts by the manager "Raja" and the gardener "Nihal". During our stay, we shared with them and their family unforgettable moments. We miss them!
The house is large and spacious, able to accommodate a large families (there are three bedrooms), comfortable and very nicely decorated. There is a large garden which is a paradise for the animals. Every mornings we had breakfast with monkeys, it was fabulous!
The accommodation is well served by public transport : you can reach Colombo, Galle, the beaches very easily.
Raja and Nihal are at your disposal to make your nicest stay possible!
It is definitely the best place to discover the Sri Lankans people's way of life!

Many thanks for your kind words!

Regards, from Raja & Nihal.
