La Rosilla is a charming finca is set in the picturesque hamlet of Solano, a quiet place affording amazing views over the Montes de Malaga, surronded by 2 acres of own Olive and Almond Groves, and just 7 km from the towns of Colmenar and Comares. Both these towns offer a typical Spanish whitewashed village and all amenities: banks, shops, restaurants, 24H health centre, and lovely outside swimming pools.

Your holiday at La Rosilla will ensure you have peace and tranquillity, are place to recharge your batteries whilst offering you a base to explore this wonderful area. This Finca has every facility, along with beautiful terraces, to soak up the sun, catch a little shade and just totally relax. There is a wonderful (heated) splash / plunge pool on the Moroccan terrace to cool off in the hot summer months.

Children are very welcome, and they will have the chance to be free, explore and live the Swallows and Amazons lifestyle.

The Costa del Sol/Malaga region

The Costa del Sol has every imaginable offering - culture, entertainment, excellent dining, fabulous beaches and as many golf courses as you could want (20minutes) The beautiful city of Malaga, with art museums(piccaso)(30mins), architecture and history, is an absolute must. The town of Antequera and Loja(25mins)to the north has a bullring, ancient castle, and tapas bars to rival any Spanish/Moorish town. There are beaches for every taste Torre del Mar(20 mins) lively beaches with all the usual activities and watersports, and quiet coves for relaxing.

Driving along the Costa del Sol overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, about 30 minutes away from Malaga Airport you will enter La Axarquia, a rural region still unspoilt by tourism. Green countryside with whitewashed villages, tranquillity and a different way of life under the year-round sunshine of Andalucía are waiting for you.

Going up from Torre del Mar into the mountains you will reach Lake Viñuela, a man-made reservoir surrounded by mountains, not only providing the area with water but also forming a spectacular and harmonic part of attraction of this unique and scenic landscape. Here you will find several bars/restaurants offering fantastic food.

Heading inland from here you will reach the charming village of Colmenar, nestled into this stunning countryside with breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. Colmenar is known for its butchers with wild Boar and Goats cheese and Chorizo sausages a must try, And locally produced Honey Which is where Colmenar takes it Name from (the Bee hive)

Colmenar / Solano area

The pretty whitewashed village of Colmenar lies in the region of Axarquia. This small and unspoilt area of Andalucía - to the north east of Malaga - is still a well-kept secret. Untouched by mass tourism, and surrounded by National Parks it is designated an area of outstanding natural beauty between the Sea and Sierras.

The village offers very reasonable local restaurants and excellent shopping facilities. Only 20 minutes to the Mediterranean coast, and 30 minutes to Malaga international airport, 45minutes Granada Due to good motorway connections, Granada and Antequera towns can be reached in 1 hour, Cordoba and Seville in 2 hours. Lake Vinuela is 10 mins by car.

Our local village of Colmenar one of the largest in The Axarquia region, has a true unspoilt Spanish feel, but now with many amenities. Huge outdoor pool, with gardens , bar and bathing open in July and August, fabulous Feria in August, is five minutes away by car . In the town of Colmenar you can purchase all grocery items as well as freshly baked bread. Fresh fish,butchers(4) and banks(2). Thursday there is a street market. There is a good choice of local restaurants and bars , as well as dozens to choose from at the coast, catering for all tastes. 24-hour medical centre.

Riogordo and Comares are within 10 minutes drive some of the Axarquia unspoilt white washed villages.


Comares, perched high on top of the Mountain(old fort), has the best views ever, as well as winding streets, bars and restaurants, and outside pool.

July and August is Feria time in the Axarquia region, with traditional carnivals taking place over many days, with dancing and eating, a must-see for any visitor.

The area is stunning for walking holidays, and wildlife spotting, and walks can be recommended in the area.and listed in our visitors book. You will be able to see Eagles, flying high over the Montes, aswell as Hoopoes, Bee Eaters and Buzzards.

At La Rosilla There is a large open plan day room beautifully furnished , with Dining for 8 . Country style kitchen with huge american fridge, with filtered water, and ice machine, and comfy seating, Satelite T.V (English channels) WiFi access. There are double doors leading to the Moroccan Terrace.

The Lounge is elegantly furnished, T.V, DVD, Stereo, with good selection of DVDs and CDs with double doors leading to shaded front terrace.

The Master bedroom, with King Size bed , lovely furniture , has a luxurious free-standing roll-top bath, and own Andalucian en suite wet-room, double doors onto terrace with fabulous views.

There are two single bedrooms , Family bathroom with Shower.

The 2nd double bedroom, has beautiful en-suite with corner bath, and walk in Spanish shower.

We also have X-Box and Wii, Trampoline(with sides), Rope slide, Should the children need some time out and plenty of children's books.

Further details outdoors:
There are many beautiful terraces, which all have fantastic views over Olive and Almond trees, facing the Montes of Malaga. The Villa is accessed from a quiet country road, (tarmaced) then down our own short track, leading to the Villa.

There is a private well stocked garden areas, with many fruit trees and natural mountains views unspoilt for 20km ,

There is a lovely outside barbecue area, with 2 wine fridges and outside sink (and olive wood to burn)

The lower terrace has huge banquet seating and rustic tables.

The Morrocan terrace has Plunge Pool, beautiful to sit in with friends to cool off, or to sip a glass of wine at night, while looking for shooting stars. It is also has low level seating, bamboo shading and outside dining for 10.

There are sunloungers and plenty of chairs - for relaxing.
