Found in the peace and tranquillity of the Andalucian countryside , this beautiful cottage offers a truly relaxing haven away from the stresses of everyday life.
Tucked away down a private drive the cottage is surrounded by almond and olive groves and has spectacular views across the valley and pretty whitewashed villages of the Axarquia.
The private pool is surrounded by gardens and furnished patio/sunbathing terraces. Also a shaded dining area and BBQ.
Inside , the property is maintained to a high standard and is light , airy and comfortable. The fitted kitchen and dining area lead out through French doors onto the patios. The master bedroom has views through French doors onto the pool area and there is also a twin bedroom so is also ideal for families.
The local village of Colmenar is only a short drive and has a good selection of shops, tapas bars, restaurants etc.
The location of the property is ideal for exploring this wonderful area, or just relaxing and enjoying the pool and sunshine along with the obligatory chilled glass of wine.

The layout of the property is comfortable and spacious and the rooms are all light and airy.
The kitchen is fitted out a country style with plenty of preparation space and a dining area with seating for 4 persons.
The lounge area has a wood burning stove, comfy seating and sat tv and dvd.
The pretty master bedroom with a king size bed has French windows leading onto the pool area.
The twin bedroom is spacious and furnished out in quality wooden furniture.
There is a full bathroom with bath , shower , toilet , sink and hairdryer.
There is a selection of games , books, and dvd's.

The exterior of the property is surrounded by ample patios and gardens.
There are sunbeds for relaxing around the pool . A dining table and chairs are located in a shady area close to the kitchen area , ideal for al fresco dining. There is also a BBQ.
The views from the property are absolutely spectacular over looking the valley and villages of the Axarquia.
There are plenty of walks around the property.
There is ample private parking directly outside the property.

The property is cleaned and maintained to a high standard and clean linen and towels are provided for guests.
A security deposit of £150/150 euros is required on arrival ,returned on departure as long as there are no breakages etc
A high chair and travel cot can be arranged on request, please ask.
The property is available for longer term rental from October onwards, from £550 pm, please ask .
Starter packs can be arranged for arrivals on request.
Please note all prices are exclusive of wood (winter only)
Internet available on request 15 euros pw.

If you would like to book the property , we ask for a 30% deposit to confirm the booking. The full balance can be paid any time up to 6 weeks prior to arrival. A receipt is sent for all payments. Payment can be made by bank transfer or Paypal.
Any special offers are for a full week.
The property is rented out only to those who are on the original booking form and clients should ensure that they have their own adequate holiday insurance.
The Andalucia / Malaga Province region


This region is well known for it long hot summers but is ideal for winter breaks ue to the mild and ofen suny winters.
The area has a wealth of places To visiT, historic cities, beaches, golf courses etc. The famous cities of Granada, Cordoba and Ronda are an easy day trip as are Antequera, Nerja, and its caves and cosmopolitan Marbella.
To the west of Malaga there are beach resorts of Torremolinos, Benalmadena with its hge marina, fishings trips and Fuengirola.
To the East are the Spanish resorts of Torre del Mar with long promenades for walks and local fish restaurants, Torrox and Nerja with its famous"Balcon de Europa", caves and good shops and restaurants.
The coast has very good shopping centres, zoos, water parks, local markets, horse and flamenco shows, an abundanceof golf courses, amusement parks etc. The main city of Malaga has a very beautiful cathederal and an old quarter with tapas bars and local music, an old castle with views over the port and a paseo with city gardens and walks along with horse drawn carriages. The shopping is also very good.
The airport is only a 30 minute drive from the propery, as is the main bus/train station.
The Colmenar area
The local village of Colmenar is known as the capital of the Axarquia region of Andalucia. It derives its name from the beehive or "colmena" and its organic honey can be bought today. The village also has a honey museum showing the process of collecting and producing the local honey.
The village lies in an elevated position with a church at the very top of the vllage. The views from here of the surrounding area are superb. Colmenar has a very good selection of tapas bars, restaurants, bakers, butchers, small supermarkets, chemist, 24 hour medical centre , banks and a weekly fresh fruit and veg market.
It is also well connected by good roads to the motorway junction only kms away making it an ideal base for touring and for easy day trips sightseeing.
The village has 2 main festivals, one in February and one in August although all the surrounding villages also have their own festivals. The Spanish always have something to celebrate!
Colmenar is close to the villages of Rio Gordo, Alfernate and the beautiful hilltop village of Comares.
There is a small local park, huge municipal swimming pool and a great area for country walks.
A small riding stable is located a few miles away and the area is also idea for birdwatching and bike riding.
The Montes de Malaga national park has lovely cool walks in the pine forests and the Torcal National Park with its fabulous rock formations is good for walks and picnics.
The area really has something for everybody, but it is also ideal for relaxing and taking the slow pace of life in the Andalucian countryside in the beautiful sunshine!
