Secluded villa with stunning mountain views, gorgeous gardens and large private pool. Casa En Cumbre is a well appointed practical holiday home for families or a group of friends. The location is peaceful and secluded and has the flavour of a retreat, yet is close to all amenities and lively possibilities, and a great base for exploring Andalucia. The house sits near the top of Cerro del Aguila – Hill of the Eagles - “where eagles fly, on the mountain high,” near Colmenar, at the edge of the Montes de Malaga Natural Park. Excellent access road and house not overlooked by other properties, with patios and terraces in well-stocked gardens.

The Costa del Sol/Malaga region
From Cerro del Aguilla you will be in easy reach of all the many attractions of the whole region of Andalucia. This is a fascinating part of Spain, which is abundant with natural, scenic, cultural and historic wonders. It has a history tinged with Roman and Moorish influences with architectural historical remnants sitting alongside rugged inland towns that are still predominantly olive farming communities. Dotted throughout dramatic mountain ranges and vast national parks are remote white villages, where time appears to have stood still. Plus the region has a coastline stretching from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean, much of which is still undeveloped and unspoilt.
Colmenar area
Getting out and about… You will get to the to the coast in 25 minutes at Rincon de La Victoria, and the beaches of well known Costa del Sol resorts such as Torremolinos and Fuengirola in 35 minutes. Or, resorts like Nerja on Costa Tropical wil take 40 minutes, and a longer trip to the very unspoilt Costa de la Luz towards Portugal border will take around two hours. Lake Vinuela is 20 minutes away and the shopping malls at Velez Malaga (Eroski hypermarket) or Rincon de la Victoria (Carrefour n parque commercial, Totolan) or Antequera (Eroski) will take 30-40 minutes. Antequera and Loja, old Moorish towns, are the nearest of historic interest and only 20 kms away. Seville is a two hours drive, Grenada one and a half hours away, and as there are many motorway network links here visits to Ronda, Córdoba, and Gibraltar are all easily possible. Today the Spanish cities like Malaga, Granada, Cordoba and Seville are sophisticated and fun, reflecting the vibrant lifestyle of modern Spain, and visits will present a lively contrast to the peace and tranquillity your mountain haven at Cerro del Aguila.

Fly to Malaga with Aer Lingus, Easijet, Monarch, B.A., or BMIbaby, or to Grenada with Ryaniar (usually the cheapest ).

Further details indoors: The villa provides a relaxing environment inside and out. Bedrooms have ample fitted wardrobes, and the elegant fitted kitchen has every modern appliance. Coooler winter nights are made very cosy with the very efficient modern log-burner, and there is an ample store of logs. There are dining tables both inside and out for greater choice
Further details outdoors: You will undoubtedly spend lots of time outdoors and there are several seating areas for relaxing or open-air dining, including barbecue area. The garden has been planted with fig, lemon, olive and eucalyptus trees, shrubs, herbs and flowers, and is completely fenced for the safety of youngsters. Getting out and about. There are three terraces for seating and dining, one with patio heater, sun loungers by the pool, and and gas BBQ for outdoor cuisine. There is an outside shower and toilet to save the inconvenience of coming indoors. You will never tire of the stunning scenery… you can see for miles and miles….…from the rolling hillsides, olive and almond groves just below, to the snow-capped ski resort of the Sierra Nevada to the East, the Sierra Camarolos to the North, and the sea at Torre del Mar to the South. From the garden and terrace at the front of the house you will see the old white hilltop village of Colmenar.
