The North West Ireland / County Sligo region

We have beautiful beaches, Megalitic tombs, hill walking . Queen Meaves burial mound on the top of knockerea
Mountian. Yeats burial place is at Drumcliffe Church yard. Local Arts and Crafts.
Local Shops and Pubs in Collooney Village. Restaurant in Markree Castle, across the road from the cottage.
Main Shopping centre in Sligo, 10 minute's drive from cottage.


Collooney area

Tour Lough Gill by Boat and see Parkes Castle. Vintage Day at Riverstown every June. Markree Castle Fare 2 days every july. St Packrick's Day parade 17th March. Tubbercurry Old Fair Day 8th August 2007. A great day out for all the family. Just 20 minute's drive from the cottage. Car Boot sale every other Sunday in carrick-on-Shannon,
35 minute drive from the cottage.


How to get there

Flights arrive at Knock airport from all parts of the UK. Knock Airport is about 40 minute's from the cottage. There are flights direct from Manchester to sligo Airport at Strand Hill, about 25 mins drive from the cottage. The cottage is 5 minute's from the village of Collooney, and 10 minute's by car from the city of Sligo. Beautiful beaches, Golf, and fishing near by. Car hire is available at Knock Airport.
