About the home

On your doorstep, the beaches, restaurants, and galleries of Collioure. Our wonderfully light and airy 3 bedroom, 3rd floor apartment is situated at the top of an 18th century merchant's house in the old Mouré district, the most desirable area of Collioure. Being situated high and so close to the sea, there is always a lovely welcoming breeze that blows through the apartment. The interior areas have been rebuilt, modernised and refurbished to a very high standard by its architect owner, but it still retains it quirky charm. Including a brand new high-gloss fitted kitchen and open plan dining/lounge area. There is a new fully tiled bathroom, with surface mounted round basin. A small winding staircase leads to the private rooftop terrace, dining here is a magical experience, with its amazing 360 degree vista of Collioure, the bay and mountains. Don't miss the most amazing sunrises! Watch all the activity on the sea, from windsurfing, to the beautiful sail boats that visit the bay, and the spectacular firework displays in August and New Year . This sunny south facing flat has views of Plage Boramar and the main square from its two wrought-iron balconies in the living area. Wonderful if you enjoy people watching!

Prud'Homie is a self-catering apartment in a simple modern style with an ecletic mix of furnishings. It is designed for comfortable relaxation, with a selection of books and CD/DVDs. There are new beds in all three bedrooms. The 2 double rooms have new beds, modern basin vanity units, with shaver points and lights; wardrobes, bedside tables with reading lights. These rooms have the original shutters at the windows. Up a small winding staircase there is a new open twin bedded room under the sloping roof. The ultra modern kitchen is extremely well stocked with all the necessary equipment for 6 to make your holiday stay as easy as possible, including a dishwasher, washing machine and microwave. The kitchen, dining, and lounge area has ample comfortable seating, and is part of one large space which has 2 french windows with original shutters that lead onto small balconies with views of the beach and square. There is a small winding staircase to access the roof terrace from the kitchen area. The tiled bathroom has a WC, modern surface top basin, a full lengh bath with a powerful shower, shaver point , mirror and an electric towel radiator. There is a separate second WC. For the colder months there is electric heating in the main living areas. Bed linen, bath, hand and beach towels, are available at an extra charge.

Prud'Homie is in the older, historic part of Collioure and is mainly for pedestrians. Our apartment is just off the main square 'Place de 18 Juin' in the centre of the old town, in the Mouré area. Many festival events and ceremonies are held in the 'Place' and the balconies and terrace make great observation spots. There is a 360 degree view of the town, sea and mountains from the terrace. It is furnished with a bench, tables and chairs for 6 , deck chairs and lounging chairs, and mats to take to the beach. This classic 18th Century former merchant's house is close to all the activities, beaches, restaurants and local shops in the town. This unique area of Collioure only allows car access between 8am and 11am for loading and unloading in the summer months.

Free WIFI internet connection available. Unfortunately the apartment is not suitable for pets. If you have very young children please contact the owner. We request no smoking either inside or outside the apartment . The apartment is on the 3rd floor with no lift access.

Conditions

A 25% deposit is requested with the returned booking form, with the balance due 6 weeks before arrival date.
A refundable damage deposit is payable with the final balance. Subject to a satisfactory property inspection this will be refunded within two weeks of your departure.
Prices also include local tourist tax of 0.40€ for adults and children over 13 per day.
We request that guests arrive after 4pm on their start date, and leave by 10am on the day of departure.

The Collioure area

Collioure is a picturesque former fishing village in French Catalonia. Famous for its anchovies, which make up the basis of many Catalan dishes, it has been awarded the 'site remarquable du goût' (site of culinary excellence) because of the way that the fish are still filleted by hand.
The largely pedestrianised streets are a maze of twists and turns as they step up from the seafront, stroll amongst these to discover the restaurants, art galleries and shops selling pottery and wines of the area, sit and have an aperitif at one of the many seaside bars around the bay.
It has been a mecca for artists for well over a century, made famous by artists such as Matisse, Derain and Picasso.
Collioure has three main beaches with safe swimming areas, snorkelling and sailing. with several pretty coves nearby for those seeking a little more solitude. On Wednesday and Sunday mornings a bustling market is held; while throughout the months of July and August there are festivities and music. From the 14th-18th in mid-August the 'Fete de St Vincent ' is held, culminating in a spectacular firework display in the bay.
The terrace must be one of the very best places to see this amazing display, with uninterrupted views of both the Chateau Royal and the Church which are included in this firework extravaganza . Over Christmas and New Year a big marquee is put up on the beach where you can dance the night away for free, with yet another spectacular display of fireworks at midnight.

“Perfect.” We loved our stay in Prud'Homie, and can't praise it highly enough. It's as lovely as it looks in the photos -- in my opinion, even lovelier. We came in May, during school holidays -- two moms and our daughters and niece. The teen-agers stayed upstairs (they loved having their own part of the apartment). Each room of the flat is beautiful, and the details -- from a sink in each room to the very pretty sheets and the well-equipped kitchen -- made this a real home, cozy and aesthetically pleasing at once. The roof terrace was fabulous -- we've travelled to Collioure before, and noticed that this time we hardly went to cafes -- the view from the roof terrace seemed the best in town. We had most of our meals there, and the teen-agers liked to spend time there playing games or just chatting, too. We also appreciated the flowers and wine, and the thoughtfulness of the owner. The flat is right in the heart of the old town, very near the beach -- hard to imagine a better location. The weather was perfect, too, and we took long walks along the cliffs and up to the old monastery in the hills behind the town. A lovely town, and a beautiful place to stay -- we can't wait to go back!

“Amazing Honeymoon spent in Collioure!!” We spent our honeymoon in Collioure and loved Collioure and Prud Homie! The apartment was amazing, clean, fully equipped with everything you could possibly need. The rooms were lovely and the view from the roof terrace is amazing. We enjoyed breakfast on the roof terrace over looking the sea!! This place was great for us in terms of location as well. There are restaurants so close and we enjoyed wandering out on a warm evening looking for somewhere different to eat!!

“Absolutely perfect” Our second stay at Prud'Homie Collioure. We love it. Perfect home from home appartment. Clean and well looked after, excellent position. Wonderful roof terrace, fantastic views. Collioure has so much to offer, is lively but sophisticated and has everything you could possibly need. Great restuarants, shops, and scenery, just such a wonderful carefree atmosphere. Great local vinyards. This is what real holidays are about. We'll definately be back again.

“Wonderful views!” This is a beautiful appartment with the most wonderful views of the sea, town, and mountains. We appreciated having a wide selection of books, tourist info and maps and it was a real pleasure attending to the lovely displays of flowers on the appartment's balconies. Collioure is a wonderful place in which to stay with its beaches and quaint back streets where it is very easy to escape the tourists! The surrounding area is well worth exploring and we enjoyed trips to Ceret, the chateau at Castelnau, the extraordinary priory at Serrabone, andthe Palais des Rois at Perpignan-we were, however, always happy to return to Collioure which has its own special magic. The appartment is light and airy and very well equipped down to beach mats and parasols! We had a wonderful time here and wouldn't hesitate to recommend!

“A wonderful french town on the med, wonderful food scenery and sunshine.” Collioure is a very pretty town and in June it was just a delight. We sampled the best of french cuisine and wine and enjoyed the sunshine and views from our apartment 3 - 12 Rue de la Prud'Homie. The apartment was extremely well appointed, very clean and tidy, and inside you will find a very well appointed up-to-date holiday home with the traditional french style of high ceilings and long windows and shutters keeping the air cool in the heat of the day and night. We enjoyed the beach, sunshine and town which is full of wonderful restaurants and bars. The french food is slightly influenced by spannish tapas and paella fish dishes. Lots of interesting little shops and a fabulous market on Sundays and Wednesdays. Would hightly recommend a visit.

“La Prud'Homie was everything we hoped it could be!” At the top of a beautiful staircase, the apartment was waiting for us with gorgeous lilies in a vase and a bottle of wine on the table. We cooked in the well equipped kitchen using the wonderful local food we bought in the local markets and shops just steps away. We listened to the surf out our bedroom windows and watched the sunset as we ate hors d'oeuvres on the rooftop terrace. And there are numerous walks along the sentier littoral to balance out all of that good food - as well as sunbathing and swimming on the beaches that are just around the corner.

“Wonderful apartment in the heart of historical Collioure” Beaches, shops of all descriptions, restaurants and history greet you around every corner in Collioure. All the criteria for a relaxing holiday are available - from enjoying beautiful views on the apartment roof top terrace to energetic walks to historical sites and surrounding towns . The apartment was beautifully maintained, well decorated and extremely well equipped, with all of the amenities. The bedrooms were large and very comfortable. Two bathrooms were a bonus for 4 adults. We would definitely recommend this apartment to anyone.

“The best place to stay in Collioure” This property is spectacular!! The apartment is so lovely and had everything that we could possibly want for our stay in Collioure. The view from the terrace is breathtaking. The sunrise fabulous and well worth getting up early for. We felt so at home here during our stay and we loved being right in the heart of town where shopping, restaurants and beaches were just outside our door. We rented a car and it was very easy to navigate to other towns and areas from Collioure. The apartment was very clean and the furnishings were just lovely. Sheila, the owner was so nice to work with and very helpful in answering all of our questions. I cannot say enough about Prud'Homie. We loved, loved, loved it and would definately stay there again if we were to visit the area.
