About the home

The apartments have been renewed and still have the old local structures such as wood rafters, bricks arches and outside stones walls. They all have their own entrance, a living room with a fully equipped cooking area, one or more bedrooms, TV, an outside area with table and chairs and a place to park the car near the apartment. And also have access to a swimming pool.

Guests can choose between two different kinds of accommodations. We have apartments in the small village, near the reception and the pool where people can easily socialize, but we also have apartments in a farm-house along the estate for those who prefer a quiet and silent stay.

We grow grapes, olive-trees, corn and sunflowers, so that the 700 acres of the estate end up by forming a natural and coloured painting. You can taste the Extra-Virgin Olive Oil we produce in our own oil-mill and a very good “Chianti Colli Senesi” red wine.

A deposit of 30% of the cost of the stay must be paid at the time of booking, which will not be returned should the booking be cancelled.

If you are fond of good wine and beautiful landscapes, you cannot miss to spend some of your time in the Chianti, a few miles drive from Mensanello.

The Colle di Val d'Elsa area

Tenuta di Mensanello is located on the top of a hill nearby Colle di Val d'Elsa, a worldwide known city thanks to its main product: crystal. Its medieval historical centre is not popular but it is really worth a visit.

We are in a strategic position, the most popular and interesting cities such as Siena, Firenze, Volterra, San Gimignano and Monteriggioni are easy to reach in a short time.

We were blown away by our stay at Mensanello. The staff was amazingly accommodating, allowing us to book the same day as arrival, and staying up late to welcome us. Our apartment was amazing value, by far the best deal we had on our entire trip to europe. It was scrupulously clean, even though they didn't have advance warning of our arrival. The furnishings weren't brand new, but we didn't even notice - everything was comfortable and well stocked. The view outside our apartment was unbelievable - the perfect tuscan getaway. The pool was wonderful and huge - everything was set up for our enjoyment. It was a wonderful spot that we will dream of for a long time to come. Yes agrotourismo means staying on a working farm, but when it's an olive oil and vineyard, life doesn't get much better. We were able to get amazing wine and oil from the reception desk, and couldn't have been happier. As others have mentioned, it's about a 30 minute drive to Florence, so we were able to use Mensanello as our base, and travel to Florence for dinner. Definitely will recommend to our friends and family.

We´re spending our holidays here every year for now 10 years - and we´re continuing coming back.
It´s a lovely farmside (which is in use - wine and oil are produced there), near Siena (20 min.) and Florence (40 min.) and LOTS of places of interest!!!! Be aware that you NEED a car because there is no public transportation available.
The apartments are spacey and quiet but please notice they don´t have A.C., but the traditional constructure keeps them cool also during summer time. The pool is very large, situated next to the main building with a large garden side.

For any request or question you may have, you can contact Carla during the office hours. She knows everything about the area and is happy to help you with whichever problem and her language skills include english and italian
Frankfurt 2009

We stayed in a six person apartment near to the main house. The apartment was spacious and adequately furnished with modern appliances with two well equipped bathrooms. Everything was clean and well maintained, and although there was no AC it was comfortable enough in the very hot weather we had during our stay. No problem with insects in the house as insect screens on all windows did the job. Excellent pool and attractive gardens a few paces from the apartment. Restaurant was popular and we enjoyed our 5 course dinner - quality Tuscan fare with wine, coffee, liquers all for 20e per head. All the staff were friendly and helpful; particularly Carla and Elena who were there to help at all times. Surrounding countryside is stunning, and although a working farm Mensanello is quite idyllic
