The Tasmania region
As you drive along Coles Bay Rd into the Freycinet Peninsula and see the Hazard Mountains towering up from the shoreline that you realise you are discovering an iconic part of Tasmania, in fact the World. From the scenic landscape to the beautiful Flora and fauna, Freycinet truly is a beautiful and secluded place. It shows the wild East Coast with Friendly Beaches and Cape Tourville and the quiet and calmly waters of Great Oyster Bay. There is something to do in Coles Bay whatever the weather or wind direction you will always find a sheltered beach. The East Coast has the best of Tasmania's weather with it rarely getting below 1 degree in Winter and always warming up throughout the day. Summer mornings are beautifully still, before a coastal afternoon breeze starts to cool everyone down.
There are many activities available from Bushwalking through the Freycinet National Park to visit the Iconic Wineglass Bay, to discovering tracks and quiet secluded beaches. The Wineglass Sea Cruises and kayaking with Freycinet Adventures are a must to discover the scenic waters and sealife. Tombolo Cafe and Coles Bay Convenience are great for food and groceries.
