From the owner

Badgers End is a charming old beamed cottage with modern facilities complete with a cosy wood burning stove, fluffy towels and Eygptian cotton bedding. It is set within a private ancient 2000 yr old woodland (with resident owls) and orchard. It snuggles at the end of a country lane. Complete with 5G Internet connection. Elevated, looking towards the Welsh Mountains. Fifteen minutes walk into the Heart of the Forest leading down to the River Wye in one direction and 20 minutes walk to the local artisan bakery in the opposite direction. Our aim is to make your experience unforgettable for its welcome, historical uniqueness and comfort.

The cottage has a beamed lounge with log burner, 18"/45cm thick walls, split stable door, leading to fully equipped kitchen/diner. Up the thick carpeted staircase to the landing off which there is a double bedroom, oodles of wardrobe space, with en-suite and smart TV. A twin bedroom with 18" walls, little lamps, thick carpet and master bathroom.

Outside the cottage flowers surround the cottage lounge and change with the season. You can watch the squirrels up and down the 600 yr old walnut tree opposite the kitchen window or from your outside dining table.

Twenty minutes walk to ancient 12C Award winning inn in Newland village the home of the 'Cathedral of the Forest' (Grade 1 listed).

There are superb walks through the glades of bluebells in the Forest or the ancient oak and beech trees within which the wild boar, fallow and red deer graze, or the dazzling autumn colours giving a final finale. There are amazing walks, cycling trails, canoeing, archery, riding, lama trekking, high ropes, museums, churches, coal and iron mines, lakes, the River Wye with pleasure cruises. Overall a magical and varied experience which is frequently the setting for famous films 'Harry Potter' , Star Wars and TV serials, 'Dr Who' and 'Merlin'.
