"Springwatch in your front room"
We had a great time at Castle cottage,, VERY clean on arrival. would definately recommend and hope to return in the future, saw loads of wildlife around the cottage and the idea of the cameras is excellent, think we watched them more than the tv!! my tractor addict 10 year old loved watching the harvest being done and looking after the sheep in the field next door to us. Had lots of great days out without having to travel far. Nothing too much trouble for our hosts if enquiring about anything......THANKS FOR A FAB WEEK

"Heaven is Press Mains...."
We've stayed at all but one of the cottages at Press Mains. They are all of an equally high standard and consequently we've been going each May for over a decade!
Eco-warriors will be impressed with the approach Emma & Peter take to their farming and the holiday cottages - the wildlife is clearly benefitting and one has one's own version of Spring Watch piped into the TV screens in the property.
There's plenty to do in the borders, loads of great houses, loads more fantastic sandy beaches.
If I were a selfish person I'd write an awful review, so as to protect our chances of re-booking - Oxfordshire (where we live) is beautiful but we need at least one annual trip to Press Mains. Yorkshire folk may claim that where they live is "God's own County", which may be true, but "he" built Press Mains to retire to!

"A must for all wildlife enthusiasts"
Just got back from another wonderful stay at Press Mains Cottages. We stayed in Castle Cottage, which was very well-equipped with everything you would need. Lovely, cosy fire. Wonderful views from the cottage over the farmland. Too many bird species to begin to list! We saw our first Red Poll, as well as woodpeckers, pheasants, green and gold finches, deer, hare, badger - all across from our cottage window, and also many of them beamed straight to our television 24 hours a day, which was absolutely fantastic. Can't take your eyes off the buzzard and otter cams!
It needs to be acknowledged what a wonderful job Emma, Peter and all do in managing not only the farm but the cottages, and their commitment to the wildlife environment that they work amongst is second to none.
I would recommend Press Mains to anyone, we can't wait to return!!

"It was a perfect holiday"
Castle Cottage is a lovely place to stay. It is a well equipped cottage and we felt right at home. The surrounding area is beaufitful and the wildlife was great. Emma is doing a great job running the place, she was lovely and very helpful aswell. Will be returning soon. We would recommend The New Inn restaurant for food in coldingham it was delicious and in Eyemouth the best place for fish and chips was Mackays as it was really good.

"Relaxing family getaway with fantastic outdoor activites and wildlife."
5 in our family -myself and my husband and 3 kids aged 14, 9 and 6. Fab cottage, nice rooms, everything we needed, clean and comfortable. We all especially enjoyed the log fire and the wildlife and CCTV watching badgers every night. What a great place to come for a relaxing family getaway. We enjoyed exploring the local area and walks - Coldingham beach, St Abbs and the grounds of nearby Paxton House. Can imagine this would also be a great base for further afield in the Scottish Borders, Northumberland and even Edinburgh. Emma was always available and made us feel welcomed and at home. She even took the time to show us round the farm and to let the kids feed the animals. We were able to relax together and step out of our busy lives to a calm and relaxing place to stay. Thank you very much. We will be back!
