6 Castle Road
Cottage | 2 bedrooms | sleeps 3
A classic Victorian artisan cottage, No 6 adjoins Colchester's spacious Castle Park. With its lovingly restored period details – cast-iron fireplaces, stripped woodwork, antique furnishings and traditional bed linen – the cottage perfectly encapsulates the atmosphere of an earlier, less hurried era. The pretty back garden with table and chairs is sheltered and secluded and there is off-road parking by the side of the house for a small car.
The cottage sleeps three. Upstairs there is a double room with a comfortable six foot bed, a single bedroom with 4ft French bed. There is a sofa-bed downstairs to accommodate any additional visitors with a separate dining room for family meals and entertaining. The kitchen is fully equipped with a washing machine, electric oven and gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, crockery, cutlery and glasses.
The bathroom has a large bath, shower and toilet, there is a ready continuous supply of hot water.
