Situated in the small, well preserved, peaceful south facing village of Eugaria, in the environmentally protected hill sides of Sintra Mountains, in the heart of the natural reserve park of Sintra-Cascais, the house has superb 360º views, to mountains and overlooks hamlets, vine yards, pastures and valleys towards the coast line and its beaches.
The village of Colares just 2km with exciting country colours and flavor await, 8 km from historic Sintra - UNESCO W. H, for national museums, monistic building and majestic castles and royal places, with good examples of architectural and historic grand noble houses, and just 5 minutes from beautiful beaches, golf courses, hoarse ridding, and outdoor activities for those more spirited, and of course local cuisine and family run restaurants.
This 17/18 c. country house keeps all is original characteristics with antique Portuguese tiles panels, original flag stones, wooden beams and floor and fireplaces and is tastefully decorated with comfortable fittings and antiques furnishing, together with all modern amenities. The house has large living area with fireplace and adjoining dining area suitable for up to 8 seated comfortably. The living room accesses to private grassed inner garden and on to swimming pool with spectacular views.
There is 2/3 bedrooms: 1 "en suite" room with bathroom facilities and 2 others served by a separate shower room/WC. Traditional characteristic antique kitchen, with modern facilities incorporated and very charming breakfast room. Also includes an Outdoor patio suitable for meals laid with original terracotta tiles, also superb view. From common areas and bedrooms you have splendid views of the valley, mountain and the sea. The pool decorated with antique tile panels is surrounded by a large well kept landscaped garden. The entire house is decorated with tastefully antique furniture and all modern facilities. This property offers once a week house cleaning.

The house is in a property called "Quintal dos Pintos". In the 17/18c. The bread of the village has made and sold in the ground floor of the propriety and still conserve the bread oven. It has belonged to an American architect and writer that wrote 2 books " A cottage in Sintra" and " Back to Portugal" where he describes is stay in Portugal and lots of funny stories he had when he restore this house 20 years ago.

Parking in the road is available with very short walk to the house
The property is only 5 minutes away from Colares, where you can find an excellent grocery shop, butcher, pharmacy and all other basic facilities. It also has a typical fresh produce street market, every weekend and public holidays. Excellent restaurants are easily found in Colares, Azoia, Cabo da Roca, Almoçageme, Praia das Maçãs, Azenhas do Mar( 5 to 15 min drive). Supermarkets and big shopping centres found within 15 / 30 min drive.
Banks, pharmacies, hairdressers, taxis, newspapers, bars, night club, etc. can all be found at Praia das Maçãs, Colares, Almoçageme, all nearby locations, 5 to15 minutes drive train or by horse and carriage. Along the coast, the choice of beaches is endless, famous for water sports activities and a variety of sea faring competitions, sandy family beaches, all within 5 to 30 minutes drive from the property. The cosmopolitan capital of Lisbon, is only 30 minutes away.
Conveniently located, with easy access to Sintra's historical sites and stunning beaches (Adraga, Grande and Maçãs), the cottage is also fairly close to highways to Lisbon (IC19), Mafra (IC30), Ericeira (A21) It is therefore the ideal holiday spot for those keen to combine sightseeing and sun lounging by the pool
Parking in the road is available, we do recommend to park in the village square which is a short walk as the village streets are quite narrow!

Only part of the property is for rent, with total privacy
The house is cleaned before arrivals and once a week and the garden is maintained. Daily cleanning can be arranged on request
One of the gardens is shared with the owners of the house.

LISBON, 35 km away, the capital of Portugal, with its downtown area and 7 hills, has centuries of history. The weather always gentle invites people to enjoy the city all year around.
Visit the typical districts of the city such as the Bairro Alto, Alfama and the Mouraria, with the tranquil streets during the day and known for its nightlife, with numerous restaurants, bars and the famous houses of Fado (typical Portuguese music).
You can visit the National Art Museum, Gukbenkian Museum, City museum, Tile museum, Centro cultural Belem, and many other museums, palaces, convents, monasteries, churches, gardens, monuments.
Enjoy the sightseeing in the castle of Saint Jorge, ehe elevator of Saint Justa, and the Portas do Sol and the gardens and parksof Estufa fria, Jardins de Belem, Jardim botânico
ESTORIL and CASCAIS, 15 km away, considered the Portuguese Riviera, one of the most beautiful area of Costa del Sol with many fine sandy beaches. Cascais is a fishing village with excellent fresh fish restaurants.
GUINCHO beach, one of Portugal's best beaches, offers consistent wind to kite and wind surfers as well as reasonable waves for board surfers. Along the coast, many other beaches, famous for water sports wind surfing sky surfing bodyboard and many more.
The property is only 5 minutes away from colares where you can find an excellent grocery shop, butcher, restaurants and also take aways meats . Excellent restaurants in Colares and along the beaches, within 10 minutes drive in Azenhas do Mar, Praia das Maçãs & Praia Grande, Praia da Adraga . Supermarkets and big shopping centres found within 20 minutes drive. Banks, pharmacies, hairdressers, taxis, newspapers, bars, night club, etc. Can all be found at Praia das Maçãs, Colares, all of which are nearby locations.
SINTRA has places VERY INTERESTING PLACES: the Moorish castle (8th century), Quinta da regaleira (A must see from the 19th century), the Capuchins convent (From 1560), Monserrate Palace with is very well known gardens immortalized by Lord Byron, the National palace (First built in 1154) and the Pena palace (19th century).
For Golf players, the area is a major attraction and the following courses are within close reach: Estoril, Quinta da Beloura and Penha Longa Golf Resort .
Quinta da Marinha - Near the coast, just west of Cascais, 20 minutes by car with very beautiful with views of mountains and sea Atlantic Ocean . On the way you can stop at Cabo da Roca which is most western place in the European continent with wonderful views
During the four seasons we have a unique climate where the temperature is very pleasant.
