About the home

FINCA LA CUADRA - The Cottage Formerly a Stable has been lovingly restored to provide comfortable and rustic accommodation with part Hot & Cold Air Conditioning & Fans and offers far-reaching views towards the local mountains and the Sierra Nevada beyond. The surrounding countryside is covered with tracks, making it an ideal spot for those who enjoy country walks. The cottage is in a rural spot, along an unmade country lane (dirt track) yet only 1 Kilometer away from the local By-pass, which takes you into town in bout a 5-minutes drive. The drive, however, is what provides the level of seclusion once you reach the cottage. Long distance views through the valley are breathtaking.
The property is looked after by the owners, who live in theirown house in the adjacent plot, but unless you seek them, you would never know. The cottage stands in fenced and gated gardens of just under 1 Acre, with another 4 Acres across the lane of Olive Grove. The garden around the cottage has numerous fruit trees of a wide variety, the fruit from wish you are encouraged to pick and eat (when in Season).
The Swimming pool is private and for your sole use.
The water at the Cottage is the best mineral water in this area and drinkable. It is pump-up from our sealed well, which has a borehole 300 feet deep below the earth and filtered naturally.
The Cottage is a must for nature lovers. It is located in a beautiful part of the Andalucian countryside, which is covered with a large variety of wild flowers and herbs, including Lavender, Thyme and Sage and makes it a natural habitat for Partridge.
Minor points: The nearest bar is a 5 minutes drive or a long walk away so you would need suitable walking shoes. The owners also have several dogs that will sometimes bark when a car goes by or other disturbance, which is not often as the villa is in a country lane that leads to just a few other properties.

2nd Bedroom:
Twin bedroom with Antique style wrought iron headboards Honey glazed Pine units, Beamed ceiling fan and views.

Bathrooms:
Large corner shower. Vanity unit with a large mirror, lights, Marble top, Toilet and Beamed ceiling.

Kitchen:
Air conditioned hot & cold, Open-Plan and fitted with Rustic Units, Granite Worktop, Hob, Oven, Microwave, Fridge-Freezer, Washing Machine, Toaster, Electric kettle, Tea pot, Coffee Maker and fully stocked with kitchen utensils, (more than you will ever need).

Living rooms:
Large Sofa, Cast-Iron Stove, Air conditiong Hot & Cold, Free to Air Satellite TV, VHS Video recorder with loads of films, DVD (Bring your own films). Beamed ceiling and Views. A starter pack of logs is provided for the stove in winter. Extra logs can be bought locally.

Fridge Freezer, Microwave, Washing Machine, Iron, Private Swimming Pool, Sun loungers, Patio furniture with Cushions, Parasols, BBQ, DVD (Bring your own films), CD/Radio, Satellite TV, VHS Video recorder and lots of films are supplied, Puzzles, Books, Horseshoe throwing. Air conditiong Hot & Cold is available (living room only)

A FREE and generous food pack is supplied for your arrival. This consists of: fresh milk, fresh orange juice, water, coffee, tea bags, sugar, bread, margarine, jam or marmalade, cereal, mixed fruit, beer, lemonade, jar of olives, bottle white wine and a bottle red white or if you would like something specific for your arrival just let us know.

Further details outdoors:
There is a terrace with a pergola (Honeysucle and Jasmin), table, 4 chairs with cushions and a BBQ.
This is where you can spend some time reading, having a meal or simply enjoying the scenery.
For those long hot summer days, you have your own 8m x 4m Private swimming pool with Roman steps.
(Depth from 1.2m to 1.6m).

2 sun-loungers, 2 reclining lounge chairs all with cushions, table and chairs and 2 parasols are provided for relaxation.

There are several large olive trees for sitting in the shade as well as other areas around the cottage.

The Cottage and surrounds is not suitable for very young children.
We can only accept children over 8 years of age.

PETS:
Sorry, no pets of any sort.

SMOKING:
Smoking is only permitted in the terrace and grounds

Conditions

50% deposit of the total rental is payable on booking (Non Refundable).
The Deposit Payment is by Bank transfer.

We also offer guests the choice of paying the deposit by Credit Card/PayPal.
Payment by Credit Card/PayPal is subject to a surcharge of 4.0%, which equates to the amount we are charged for accepting such payment.

The balance for the retal is payable in Cash-Euros on arrival at the property.

SECURITY DEPOSIT:
£150 or 200 euro security deposit against damages will also be taken on arrival in cash - Refundable on the day you leave.

The Andalucia / Malaga Province region

Winter temperaures range from 16 - 20 Deg C. and Summer temperatures average about 35 Deg C.
The famous White Villages and Lakes, are not far away from Finca La Cuadra and are worth exploring.
The stylish Marina 'Puerto Banus' is only a 30-minute drive.
Granada and the amazing Alhambra Palace is a 2 hour drive.

The Coin / Sierra de Los Angeles area

The nearest towns are Coin and Ahaurin-El-Grande, which are about 5 and 10 minutes drive. Both Towns have lots of Supermarkets, Shops, Banks and also an Open-Air Market once a week.

COIN:
Situated in the valley of the Rio Grande in the province of Malaga, Coín is one of the most up and coming villages on the Costa del Sol. This once small village is expanding at an amazing pace and is fast becoming a place of residence for many foreigners.
There are about 20,000 registered residents.

Coín is located about a 30-minutes drive from Fuengirola and 25 minutes from Mijas.
Coín also houses and important ceramics factory, located on the main road from Fuengirola and a working film studio that was once the set for the TV series‘El dorado’. The studio is located on the outskirts of Coín, alongside the main highway to Marbella. The studio is also used as a hotel and restaurant

The centre of Coín has a wonderful plaza where the old Town Hall is located and local residents sit and while away the hours. The new Town Hall is located in another new plaza with an underground car park, fountains, gardens and several fine bars. The small, narrow streets are lined with family owned shops.
A new commercial centre, ‘La Trocha’ has been built on the outskirts of town.
It is located on the road to Cartama and contains numerous department stores including Dunnes, various food outlets including Burger King.

Dear Joe and Jan.
We just wanted to write and say what a lovely place Finca La Cuadra is, and what a wonderful week we had there. As we told you, we have rented many villas in Spain over the years, but without doubt La Cuadra is the nicest one we have ever stayed in. Not only is it a beautiful villa, but the pool, gardens and views are all perfect. And we needn't have brought half the things we did with us, it was all provided! You were incredibly generous with the welcome pack - it was enough to last us the whole week! We really can't find fault with the place, and you were both very kind and helpful. We will often imagine ourselves sitting by the pool looking out over the mountains, as we drag ourselves into work in the rush-hour. We look forward to our next visit!
