FINCA LA CUADRA - The Cottage Formerly a Stable has been lovingly restored to provide comfortable and rustic accommodation with part Hot & Cold Air Conditioning, Wi-fi, Satellie TV, video films and offers far-reaching views towards the local mountains and the Sierra Nevada beyond. The surrounding countryside is covered with tracks, making it an ideal spot for those who enjoy country walks. The cottage is in a rural spot, along an unmade country lane (dirt track) yet only 1 Kilometer away from the local By-pass, which takes you into town in about a 5-minutes drive. The drive, however, is what provides the level of seclusion once you reach the cottage. Long distance views through the valley are breathtaking.

The property is looked after by the owners, who live in theirown house in the adjacent plot, but unless you seek them, you would never know. The cottage stands in fenced and gated gardens of just under 1 Acre, with another 4 Acres across the lane of Olive Grove. The garden around the cottage has numerous fruit trees of a wide variety, the fruit from wish you are encouraged to pick and eat (when in Season).

The Swimming pool is private and for your sole use.

The water at the Cottage is the best mineral water in this area and drinkable. It is pump-up from our sealed well, which has a borehole 300 feet deep below the earth and filtered naturally.

The Cottage is a must for nature lovers. It is located in a beautiful part of the Andalucian countryside, which is covered with a large variety of wild flowers and herbs, including Lavender, Thyme and Sage and makes it a natural habitat for Partridge.

Minor points: The nearest bar is a 5 minutes drive or a long walk away so you would need suitable walking shoes.

The owners live at about 200 metres behind the cottage and have several dogs that will sometimes bark when a car goes by or other disturbance, which is not often as the villa is in a country lane that leads to just a few other properties. The neighbour in the adjacent land has three horses and a couple of dogs. If you do not like animals or are bothered by these sorts of things then this is not the place for your holiday.

Living rooms:

Large Sofa, Cast-Iron Stove, Air conditiong Hot & Cold, Free to Air Satellite TV, VHS Video recorder with loads of films, Beamed ceiling and Views. A starter pack of logs is provided for the stove in winter. Extra logs can be bought locally.

A FREE and generous food pack is supplied for your arrival. This consists of: fresh milk, fresh orange juice, water, coffee, tea bags, sugar, bread, margarine, jam or marmalade, cereal, mixed fruit, beer, lemonade, jar of olives, bottle red white.

There is a terrace with a pergola (Honeysucle and Jasmin), table, 4 chairs with cushions and a BBQ.

This is where you can spend some time reading, having a meal or simply enjoying the scenery.

For those long hot summer days, you have your own 8m x 4m Private swimming pool with Roman steps.

(Depth from 1.2m to 1.6m).

2 sun-loungers, 2 reclining lounge chairs all with cushions, table and chairs and 2 parasols are provided for relaxation.

There are several large olive trees for sitting in the shade as well as other areas around the cottage.

The Andalucia region

Winter temperaures range from 16 - 20 Deg C. and Summer temperatures average about 35 Deg C.

The famous White Villages and Lakes, are not far away from Finca La Cuadra and are worth exploring.

The stylish Marina 'Puerto Banus' is only a 30-minute drive.

Granada and the amazing Alhambra Palace is a 2 hour drive.

Coin

The nearest towns are Coin and Ahaurin-El-Grande, which are about 5 and 10 minutes drive. Both Towns have lots of Supermarkets, Shops, Banks and also an Open-Air Market once a week.

COIN:

Situated in the valley of the Rio Grande in the province of Malaga, Coín is one of the most up and coming villages on the Costa del Sol. This once small village is expanding at an amazing pace and is fast becoming a place of residence for many foreigners.

There are about 20,000 registered residents.

Coín is located about a 30-minutes drive from Fuengirola and 25 minutes from Mijas.

Coín also houses and important ceramics factory, located on the main road from Fuengirola and a working film studio that was once the set for the TV series‘El dorado’. The studio is located on the outskirts of Coín, alongside the main highway to Marbella. The studio is also used as a hotel and restaurant

The centre of Coín has a wonderful plaza where the old Town Hall is located and local residents sit and while away the hours. The new Town Hall is located in another new plaza with an underground car park, fountains, gardens and several fine bars. The small, narrow streets are lined with family owned shops.

A new commercial centre, ‘La Trocha’ has been built on the outskirts of town.

It is located on the road to Cartama and contains numerous department stores including Dunnes, various food outlets including Burger King.

"Lovely relaxing holiday........beautiful setting"

Couldn't have asked for a better setting for a chilled out holiday. Rural enough for peace and quiet and beautiful mountain views but close enough to town for easy access to shops, bars and restaurants. The house itself (although not huge) was very well presented and cared for. It was well equipped and wonderfully clean with a safe swimming pool with 'to die for' views. The owner Jose was warm and welcoming and always on hand if we needed anything but also discreet enough to allow us to get on with our holiday uninterrupted. All in all a really positive experience - thank you.
