Accommodation comprises one double bedroom and two twins, two bathrooms, a modern fitted kitchen and spacious living room with dining area. Air conditioning has recently beed fitted and also fans are provided for all rooms, and for those visiting in the cooler months there are electric radiators and an open fire in the living room. For your entertainment there is Sky TV, Spanish TV, video and a DVD-CD player.

The Andalucia region

This delightful corner of Andalucia enjoys the best of all worlds, being just 25 minutes' drive away from the busy coastal resorts with their ample tourist attractions and nightlife, while offering visitors the opportunity to explore the wonderful countryside right on their doorstep and experience traditional Spanish customs and village life in the local towns of Coín and Alhaurin el Grande.

Sunshine can be guaranteed from May to September, and it is mostly warm and sunny in April and October. At other times there may be cooler days and the odd spell of rain, but these mid- and low-season months hold many advantages for those who want a more active holiday - a time when you can golf, walk, cycle or horse ride without searing heat sapping your energy!

Coin

This and most of our other villas are situated in and around the typical Andalucian towns of Coin and Alhaurin El Grande. As well as many shops, bars and restaurants, regular local festivals and weekly markets bring their church squares and narrow whitewashed streets to life. Alhaurin has been famous for its bread since Moorish times and there is a Moorish watermill just outside the village.

Just a short drive away are the equally charming, and much smaller, “white villages” of Monda and Guaro. The former is dominated by the ancient Castillo de Monda (now a successful hotel and restaurant) and the town is an artists’ haven with its Moorish architecture and narrow winding streets. Guaro is less cosmopolitan and offers a true taste of Andalucian village life.

GOLF AND TENNIS:

Alhaurin Golf (15 mins) - a beautiful 18-hole championship-standard golf course designed by Seve Ballesteros, with wonderful mountain views and luxurious facilities. Tennis is available at the adjoining hotel.

Lauro Golf (20 mins) - 27 holes overlooking the Guadalhorce valley. Relaxed atmosphere in the typical cortijo-style clubhouse.

Mijas Golf and Santana Golf are 30 minute's drive from Alhaurin, and at least 20 more of the Costa del Sol's golf courses can be in reached in 20-45 minutes.

OUTDOOR PURSUITS:

HORSERIDING - the beautiful Andalucian countryside can be explored on horseback, using safe tracks, from several riding schools in the area.

BIRDWATCHING - among the birds to be seen regularly in this part of Spain are eagles, buzzards, owls, hawks, partridges, golden oriels, bee-eaters, hoopoes, swifts and swallows. The Laguna Fuente de Piedra, the most important flamingo nesting site in Spain, is near Antequera, just an hour's drive away.

WALKING - there are extensive walking trails throughout the nearby Sierra del las Nieves, including the spectacular walk to the summit of La Concha which gives panoramic views of the whole Costa del Sol from Gibraltar to the Sierra Nevada and across the Mediterranean to the African Coast.

SKI-ING - during the season many of our guests enjoy a day trip to the slopes of the Sierra Nevada, a couple of hours away.

"Beautiful weather but villa needs a lot of TLC..."

This villa looks amazing online, clean and dazzling white but unfortunetly this is not the case, the whole of the villa needs re painting and the stairs up to the sun terrace are blocked off as it is unsafe so we were unable to access this or use the terrace's bbq. The villa is very home from home but I feel this then lacks a certain standard, the electrics were laid bare behind the front door (very dangerous), the washing machine leaked all over the kitchen floor and we were without water on 2 occasions due to the electric failing to pump the well. The general cleanliness was fine, with clean towels and bed linen but it was rather dusty on shelving units and the main issue was the infestation of ants that totally owned the kitchen area! I also have to say that before using some plates and kitchen utensils I had to wash them first. There are limited Sky channels and no WIFI even though we asked the lady who met us at the villa about it, but not to put a complete downer on it, I would stay there again if all the repairs were carried out and the villa looked fresh and white just like it's pictures...it is very secluded but I do have to point out that you need to prepare yourself for the constant barking of dogs that live in a kennel type area just metres from the villa who bark constantly all day and early in the morning. We did get lost on the way to the villa as once you are off the main roads the directions do become harder to follow and it took us over an hour from Malaga airport to the villa.

We have been to review again and the property has all been repainted and is back in pristine condidtion. A/C has now been added for the comfort of guests as has WIFI internet.
