LOCAL TOWNS
Villa las Brisas is in the foothills of the Sierra de Mijas, between the typical Andalucian towns of Coin and Alhaurin El Grande. As well as many shops, bars and restaurants, regular local festivals and weekly markets bring their church squares and narrow whitewashed streets to life. Alhaurin has been famous for its bread since Moorish times and there is a Moorish watermill just outside the village.
SIGHTSEEING
MIJAS (15mins) - the most famous of the whitewashed pueblos of Andalucia, perched high on a hill overlooking the Mediterranean. Renowned for donkey rides and horse-drawn carriages through its narrow streets.
MARBELLA (30mins) - centred around the attractive Old Town with its picturesque Orange Square, Marbella is the Costa del Sol's premiere resort for shopping and night-life.
PUERTO BANUS (35mins) - famous for its designer shops, restaurants, and nightclubs, set around its exclusive marina.

Close by is an impressive network of lakes. Ideal day out for walkers, climbers and picnics.

Moorish remains. The home of bullfighting, with an historic bullring and matador museum.

The Laguna Fuente de Piedra, the most important flamingo nesting site in Spain, is near Antequera, just an hour's drive away.
WALKING - there are extensive walking trails throughout the nearby Sierra del las Nieves, including the spectacular walk to the summit of La Concha which gives panoramic views of the whole Costa del Sol from Gibraltar to the Sierra Nevada and across the Mediterranean to the African Coast.

We had a wonderful holiday at this villa. We wanted peace, seclusion and privacy and got exactly that. Extremely relaxing. |

This was our second year at Las Brisas and 10 of us travelled this year - 4 adults and 6 teenagers. We rented the attached Casita as well which is an excellent option if a lot of you are travelling and gives you 2 pools!!! Organisation is very simple and straightforward with the owners who are keen to make sure everything goes well. An easy half hour journey from Malaga airport - and yet once at Las Brisas you have left the city well and truly behind. Unspoilt mountain views are wonderful as you relax by the excellent pool facilities, purpose built BBQ area, which was brilliant, and enjoy the well tended gardens and plants that surround the whole villa - fresh figs from the tree in the garden were superb!!! The house has everything you'll need - internet access and Sky for the teenagers was great and the kitchen is very well appointed and equipped. The staff who pop in for the garden and pool maintenance and linen changes are punctual, helpful and very personable. Excellent access to all that we wanted to do - from trips to the mountains, sea fishing, shopping in Marbella, golf at the Lauro complex in Alhaurin El Grande, the amazing Malaga Fair, the local festivities in Coin, the scenery of Mijas, or just lazing by the pool with another BBQ. What more could you want - we couldn't think of anything!!!!! Highly recommended and I'm sure we''ll be back for a third visit!! |

We recently stayed at Villa Las Brisas for 2 weeks, it was our honeymoon and we wanted to get away from it all. We were not disappointed, it was the ideal place to escape from the rest of the world; with every comfort inside the house, together with perfect peace, sunshine and scenery outside with a wonderful swimming pool- all to ourselves. The house is spacious and very well equipped, everything has been considered to make your stay perfect. I am a keen cook and was able to create various complicated dishes using the well equipped kitchen. There is even a herb & spice cupboard at your disposal, 2 fridges and 2 freezers and a brand new state of the art oven & hob. No washing up either with a dishwasher built in. There are comfortable leather sofas and a reclining leather chair, soft and full lighting, Sky box with English TV programmes, CD, DVD player. There is wi-fi, we found it stable and had no problems using Skype, internet and email. There are fly screens on most windows and french doors. The villa is easily large enough for 8 persons, yet still perfect for a couple. The bedroom we had was large and airy with the most comfortable bed that I have ever slept in abroad. There is air-con too, we didn't need it in the lounge but used it for an hour in the bedroom at night, as hot air rises during the day. Leaving the shutters closed will keep the place cooler too. There are 2 bathrooms with bath/shower, loo, basin and bidet in both, again clean and spacious. We had no problems with the plumbing and hot water was always there when we wanted it. We spent the majority of our time outside, in and out of the pool, clothing is optional by the way, you have total privacy there! The garden is cleverly planted with an abundance of tropical plants, trees and containers of hibiscus and geraniums, it's just delightful. There is a BBQ house with lighting and water, which is great as all the mess is contained and the smoke goes up the chimney. You can soak up the sun all day long, as there are lots of places to relax together with an abundance of comfortable chairs and loungers and a gazebo with mosquito nets. incidentally, we had very little trouble with mosquitoes this year. If you don't want to cook, there are lots of places close by to dine out. One to suit every budget. We did all our food shopping in Coin, a nice little town with everything you need. We spent a couple of days in Cordoba, it was an easy 2 hour drive and well worth the visit. Mijas and Benalmadena Pueblo are only 25 minutes away with Fuengirola and the coast now only 30 minutes drive on the new faster road. It's great to visit all these places, but we were always glad to get back to the Villa, it felt like" home from home" - except there was sunshine, air-con and a swimming pool! |
