Quinta Jual is located 1km drive from Vila Nova de Poiares and 20km from the beautiful city of Coimbra. It is well situated for exploring the Beiras region of Portugal which is steeped in history. Ideal for walkers and nature lovers.
The cottage has 2 bedrooms, one double with en-suite facilities, and one twin. In it's own courtyard stands a gazebo with table and chairs for al fresco dining.

The Costa de Prata/Silver Coast region
The beautiful city of Coimbra, Portugals' former capital; sits on the river Mondego. A mixture of the old and the new, eg. historic buildings and old town but with ultra-modern shopping centres and acres of free parking. Palace of Buçaco, Portugals most expensive hotel. Boasts ancient trees from all over the world and is the site of Wellingtons bloodiest battles. Visit the Museum in the grounds. 15km. Visit the Roman ruins at Conimbriga, well worth a look. There are ancient castles, museums, vast forests and natural parks and river beaches.
Coimbra / Vila Nova de Poiares area
Vila Nova de Poiares lies between two mountain ranges. Stunning scenery and forests of pine and eucalyptus. Canoeing, Go-Karting, horse riding, ten pin bowling. There are two golf courses a 40 minute drive away, one with driving range. There are numerous river beaches in this area and lots of gems to be discovered in the surrounding area. Visit the windmills at the next town of Penacova and Miro with its working windmills and superb restaurant which has spectacular views in all directions from the top of the mountain. Many bars and restaurants providing meals at some of the cheapest prices in Europe! Visit the local Festas during the summer months, as each village has its' own local Festa.
