Restored traditional cottage in gardens of local Manor house dating from early 19th century set in 25 acres of countryside in the foothills of the Serra da Lousa at Pereiro de Baixo. 1KM from the small market town of Vila Nova de Poiares and 15KM east of the ancient university city of Coimbra. Beautiful beaches approx 45min drive. Large indoor, solar heated swimming pool, barbeque and covered eating area. Large (40M2) sun deck. The cottage is hidden behind a mass of flowers and shrubs and is all on one level with the entrance through the garden of the Quinta. A large terrace with table and chairs overlooks the view. One twin bedroom with en-suite shower room, French windows open out onto terrace. One double bedroom with en-suite shower room. Kitchen with microwave, oven, four ring hob, fridge, coffee maker, toaster, washing machine. Lounge / dining room with French doors opening on to terrace, TV, Radio, CD player.

The Costa de Prata/Silver Coast region
The Costa da Prata is a very interesting region with many historical places to visit. The ancient university city of Coimbra is only 15KM away and is a blend of ancient and modern. With the winding narrow streets of the old city and the new shopping centres, and all the riverside bars and restaurants.The Roman Ruins and Mosaics at Conimbriga are well worth visiting. 20KM. This region has varied scenery fom mountains down to the beach and sea. The local wines are among Portugal's best known. The elegant Bairradas and the powerful red Daos. This area is renowned for its Leitao (Roast Suckling Pig) also for Chanfana (Young goat in red wine).
Coimbra / Vila Nova de Poiares area
Vila Nova de Poiares is situated where two wine regions meet and visits can be arranged to some of the wine cellars (Adegas). There is a traditional market on a Monday in Poiares and throughout the week at surrounding towns. Ideal Hiking Countryside. Ten pin bowling.,Go-Karting and Kayaking . Many local bar / restaurants. Several river beaches nearby. Supermarket 1KM.
