Woodpecker lodge is one of two purpose built holiday lodges located in the rural Suffolk village of Coddenham. Ideally situated 150 metres away from the main road in 4 acres of private land. Guests have the benefit of off road parking with a paved access to a ramped entrance which is ideal for anyone with walking difficulties. For guests wanting a bit more activity the village has its own bowling green, tennis courts within easy walking distance plus on the doorstep we have the village walks.

The medieval village of Coddenham is situated just 2 miles from the A140 and A14 providing excellent transport routes to the county town of Ipswich, seaside town of Felixstowe, market town of Diss, Norfolks county town of Norwich and on in to Essex. Suffolk gets the best of the good old British weather and Coddenham is ideally situated to make exploring Suffolk easy and enjoyable.
Coddenham boasts a fabulous Village Store stocking fresh fruit and vegetables, bakery, deli counter, off licence, groceries, gift area, out reach Post Office and a small cafe area, the ideal place to enjoy a cuppa and meet some of the villagers with a warm welcome from Julia and Jane. We also have the medieval church of St Mary's, the Duke's Head Pub, the Country Club, the Community Sports Hall offering a badminton court, bowls green and tennis courts, as well as numerous country walks right on our doorstep.
Within a 10 minute drive of Coddenham we have the leisure and retail complex of Stonham Barns with shops, cafe, 9 hole golf course and owl sanctuary. Needham Market offers medical facilities and numerous shops and takeaways as well as the Lake where you can enjoy a leisurely walk or feed the ducks. The magnificent Helmingham Hall is just 5 miles away with its stunning gardens, deer park and stable tea rooms. The ancient market town of Framlingham with its historic Castle and views across the mere is just a 20 minute drive. Enjoy a stroll along the River Deben at Woodbridge and enjoy the numerous independent shops and cafes, you could even catch a film at the Riverside Cinema.
Further up the coast, but still only a 40 minute drive, is the stunning seaside town of Aldeburgh (home of the best fish and chips!), Thorpeness with the mere and the renowned House in the Clouds, and then on to Southwold with its colourful beach huts and entertainment pier. It's easy to while away a summers day!
Coddenham is also only a short drive from Constable Country with the towns of Flatford and Dedham, or explore the beauty of Lavenham and Long Melford.
