Baan Tii Hok is a two storey two bedroom semi-detached home built on a small , exclusive development of eleven properties nestling in a secluded part of the hillside above the unspoilt area of Bang Por on the island of Koh Samui.
Situated a very short distance from the main ring road, the development is easily accessible whilst enjoying enviable seclusion. The location is ideal for a family holiday where the main objective is to relax and enjoy the sun, beside one of the two large infinity edge pools.
It's just a two minutes drive or ten minutes walk, to Bang Por beach, the golden sands of which at low tide, stretch for about two miles along the coast.
The views from the property are spectacular from the balcony, terrace and living room. Through the coconut palms, the turquoise waters of the Gulf of Thailand stretch as far as the eye can see, interrupted only by the islands of Ko Phangan and Ko Tao in the mid-distance.
The property is far enough away from the clamour of the night life areas of Chaweng and Lamai, not to be spoilt by them, but close enough to visit these hotspots by car, taxi or songtaew.
Car hire is essential, but is relatively inexpensive and opens up the whole of the island to visitors. Competitive rates have been agreed with a local car hire company.A hire car will also make shopping very much more convenient. There is ample parking on the site.
There are a number of beach-side restaurants on the ring road at the end of Soi 5. The Haad Bang Po Restaurant, directly opposite the entrance to Soi 5 is highly recommended. The food is excellent and Mo, the proprietor offers a take-away and delivery service.
A host of restaurants are available in Maenam and Nathon, which are only a fifteen and ten minute drive respectively, from the property.
Steps from the pool area lead to a terrace, which is furnished with basket weave type furniture, from which the view across the gulf can be enjoyed.
Inside, the property is tastefully furnished, mostly in hard wood, either Chinese Oak or Teak, with two very comfortable leather sofas in the living area. In the same area, there is a large LCD TV, together with a DVD player and High Definition satellite TV.receiver.
A selection of novels and games is available for the use of guests.
The whole of the spacious, air conditioned ground-floor area is open plan and the kitchen is fully fitted to include an electric oven and gas hob, fridge-freezer, microwave, kettle, coffee machine and toaster. There is a comprehensive selection of glassware, crockery and cutlery, including plastic ware for use in the pool area. The dining area is furnished with a magnificent teak and water hyacinth dining table with matching spoon-backed chairs .
There is a large storage cupboard under the stairs and a guest cloak room between the living and dining areas.

Upstairs there are two spacious air-conditioned bedrooms, both en-suite, with a Chinese oak king-size bed in each, together with ample storage space in the form of wardrobes, bedside cabinets and chests of drawers.
Each bedroom opens onto a balcony and the front balcony is furnished with a table and chairs, making this an ideal spot for alfresco meals whilst admiring the sumptuous view across the ocean.
All windows and exterior doors are fitted with insect screens, enabling the villa to be opened up to refreshing breezes, without interference from insects.
Both swimming pools are chilled to ensure that the water temperature does not become too warm in the heat of the day.

The development benefits from on-site, live-in staff who clean the villa twice a week, including laundering the sheets and towels supplied. At an extra, reasonable cost to guests of approximately £1 per kilo they will also deal with your own laundry.
The staff are extremely helpful and will assist in any way required.
The development has its own generator installed, which supplements the local electricity supply and eliminates the inconvenience of power cuts which have become a regular feature on Koh Samui over recent years.

Koh Samui is a small tropical island in the Gulf of Thailand just off the eastern coast of mainland in the southern part of Thailand
Water sports are abundant in the areas of Maenam, Bophut and Chaweng and there are numerous areas of local interest to visit, including the aquarium and tiger zoo in the south of the island, which offers a spectacular bird and tiger show. In addition daily monkey shows are given in the Bophut Monkey Theatre, which gives a vivid insight into the lives of these lovable creatures, including a demonstration of how they earn their keep harvesting coconuts from the trees.
In addition there are Boat trips to Koh Pangan and Koh Tao available from Maenam and Ban Rak.
The must-see unique rock formations at Hin Ta and Hin Yai, the mummified monk and a visit to the Marine Park are also essential items to put onto anybody’s itinerary.
The weather is usually very hot and mostyly dry from January to April, becoming cooler (but temperatures still range from 28 to 32 degrees on average) from May to September/ October. The monsoon or heavy rain season is usually from mid-Ocober to the end of November and in December it begins to warm up again.
Bang Por is a small village on the north west coast of Koh Samui, which has so far remained unspoilt by the growing levels of development taking place in other parts of the island.
There are numerous restaurants along the main road, which back onto the golden sands of Bang Por beach
For shopping essentials, there is a 7-11 store and a pharmacy less than 1 kilometre from the property, a Tesco Lotus store (similar to a Tesco Express in the UK, but larger) in Nathon, a mere ten minutes drive away and a Tesco Lotus superstore on the ring road, outside Chaweng, twenty-five minutes drive away.
For other shopping there are myriads of shops in Nathon, Maenam, Chaweng and Lamai, which also has its own Tesco Lotus superstore. Souvenir hunters should have no fear of leaving empty handed.

"Lovely property in a quiet relaxing location."
We travelled to Thailand as a family with two children aged 13 and 11 years.
Baan tii Hok is well maintained and has everything you need to have a comfortable stay. It is in a quiet location which is great if you want to kick back and relax at the end of the day. The kids loved the swimming pools and most of the time they had them all to themselves!
The maid was friendly but discreet, she cleaned the house 6 days out of 7, this was always once we had left the house and before we returned later in the day.
As we had been to Bangkok and Chiang Mai prior to arriving in Koh Samui we had a bag full of washing which I asked the maid to do,it was returned the next day and only cost us £2 for everything - fantastic service!
As it says in the description you do need a car or some transport as it would be difficult to get a taxi. We hired a car from someone the owner recommended which was great and meant we could explore all of Koh Samui.
There are a number of very good restaurants at the end of the road and if you had a torch you could possibly walk to but the road is very dark at night and with two children we opted to use the car! The food in general was good value and delicious and there are plenty of restaurants to choose from that cater for all tastes where ever you go.

"Everything as advertised and more."
We found the Baan Tii Hok property delightful. The house clean, well maintained and the pools and gardens very pretty. Local residents friendly and a short drive to the beach resturants and the local supermarkets. As advised in the advertisement YOU DO NEED A CAR.
We had some queries before we booked and found that the owner responded swiftly and fully to our enquires. Lovely place we will go again.
