About the home

West Croft Holiday Cottages comprises 3 cottages recently converted from a Grade II listed barn. If all three cottages are rented, the accommodation can cater for up to 14 guests.

The Saddlery can sleep four guests in double and a twin bedrooms. The cottage has been sympathetically converted to provide an open plan living area with dining table and chairs and a wood burning stove is the focal point of this room. The kitchen is well equipped and there is a separate utility room

West Croft Holiday Cottages can be found in the unspoilt Cumbrian village of Brigham, just outside the Lake District National Park, 2 miles from the market town of Cockermouth. It is an ideal base from which to explore the quieter lakes and mountains of The National Park, and take in the attractions of the increasingly popular Solway Coast and West Cumbrian coastal towns and villages.

All our cottages have been given a 4 star grading on our first inspection by the English Tourism Council.

Each cottage has its own parking space and a patio area with tables and chairs in the courtyard in front of the property.
Barbecues are available for use.
The cottages all have the use of a traditional games room that includes a full size snooker table, table football and family games.
The village has a children’s playing field with play-park nearby.

The Cumbria/Lake District region

Cumbria needs no introduction - once described simply as 'an area of breathtaking beauty, like no other place in the UK'.

There is much to entertain every member of your group, countryside to ramble through, cycle trails to meander along and many beautiful and natural lakes to discover. Somewhere to relax, unwind or get involved in watersports or more gentle activities.

The Cockermouth area

We are ideally placed on the edge of the Lake district Nataional Park to enjoy the delights of Keswick, Cockermouth and the Solway Coast. Nearby we have Bassenthwaite Lake, Buttermere, Loweswater, Derwent Water and many wonderful mountain walks.

4miles from our cottage is the 18 hole James Braid designed Cockermouth golf course at Embleton. The Cockermouth course is a great test of golf combined with spectacular scenery. After teeing off you will soon appreciate the views that are opening up around you, some of the finest in Cumbria.

Local attractions include: Trotters world of animals, Go-Ape at Whinlatter (rope adventures throughthe tree-tops), Cycling in Whinlatter Forest, Watersports at Derwent Water, Lal Ratty railway, The Theatre By The Lake in Keswick, Go Carting at Rowrah and much more!

William Wordsworth was born in Cockermouth and the museum is worth a visit, whilst for those who enjoy a cool glass of bitter a visit to the Jennings brewery tour always proves a hit!

“Little haven for all seasons” I stayed at the Saddlery in September, and have stayed here a few times previously. It is a little haven, with all the facilities that you need for comfort and relaxation. No detail missed. Clean and well maintained, at all times. Very tranquil surroundings, close to the amazing sights of Crummock Water and Buttermere. With quaint Cockermouth on your door step, and Wordsworth house. Close to many walking sights and nature reserves. A little paradise, for everyone!! Any time of the year. Michele
