The Rhineland/Rhine Valley region
A perfect holiday in unspoilt nature and healthy Eifel air above the beautiful Mosel wine valley!
Mosel Heights Apartments are in a very quiet location at the edge of the 270-people village of Urschmitt. Urschmitt is surrounded by forests, fields and meadows, inviting you for walks or cycle tours through idyllic countryside, unspoilt nature and in healthy Eifel air above the Mosel valley.
In only 10 minutes you are in the historic wine village of Bremm, where the steepest vineyard in the whole of Europe - called "Calmont" - offers clymbing tours with breath-taking views.
In the village itself, there is a small grocery shop, which also takes orders for fresh, crusty morning rolls. In the small town of Lutzerath in 5 km distance there are various shops and supermarkets, a petrol station and a good variety of restaurants and cafés.
The nearest train station is Cochem. We recommend all guests to come either in their own car or to hire one, since there is only a limited bus service to Urschmitt - mainly at school times.
Mosel Heights Apartments are an excellent starting point for trips into the beautiful surrounding areas.
The Mosel wine valley is on the doorstep, and here you will find countless romantic wine villages and towns, like Beilstein and Cochem, where you can browse and relax and enjoy the little pleasures in life.
In the other direction there are the volcanic Eifel hills, with impressive crater lakes, where you can take a leisurely walk or a swim, for refreshment on a hot summer's day.
For walkers and cyclists there are many circular tours of various lenghts and demands. In our holiday home we have maps and brochures for your information, and the tourist information centres in Ulmen, Lutzerath and Cochem are well stocked with tourist literature.
