Walking 100 yards. Fishing ¼ miles. Traditional Music 1 miles. Golf 1½ miles. Horse riding 5 miles. Childrens Playground, Cinema, Leisure centre and indoor pool 9 miles.
This fabulous, deceptively spacious home is on the outskirts of Ballintubber village, 9 miles from the bustling town of Castlebar and 12 miles from the popular town of Westport. Tastefully furnished and decorated, with the bonus of a games room with a pool table and board games, and second comfortable lounge. Lots to do from fishing to golf, leisure clubs and spa resorts to walks up Croagh Patrick and visits to Ballintubber Abbey, the Museum of Country Life or Westport House. Blue Flag beaches are within 45 mins drive, horse riding 15 minutes.
The name for Ballintober is "Baile Tobair Padraig" which means the townland of St. Patrick's well, and it is from Ballintober Abbey that the ancient pilgrim path to Croagh Patrick begins. Situated 8 miles from Castlebar this impressive ancient building is in a scenic spot at the foot of the Partry Mountains and the Banks of Lough Carra. Also on the site are lovely landscaped gardens, an interpretive centre, a thatched cottage / tearooms and a farm museum.
