About the home

ONLY 15 MILES FROM CLUJ NAPOCA AIRPORT! DIRECT FLIGHTS FROM LUTON.

Each cottage is equipped with bathrooms, fully furnished, and the largest has a fully equipped kitchen. Also, there is an outside cooking area with barbecue and stone oven.

Cottages are offered on self catering and full board basis. Suitable for families with children or couples looking for peaceful surrounding, we offer eco friendly trips with accommodation and full board or self catering.

Please note that the cottages are rented to one group at a time, so even if you only occupy one of the cottages the other will not be rented out to a different party at the same time.

We have 2 homes

The first contains: one lounge with coffee/tea making facilities downstairs, with wash room, upstairs 2 bedrooms interlinked, with one double bed in first room and 2 single/ bunk in the second room. With balcony overlooking the mountain.
** dining for 20 people and more is based on summer time only. In winter, due to the cold weather , dining can only take place indoors,the cottages provide dining for up to 10 people in the large cottage.

The second cottage: downstairs with kitchen/dining and living area, upstairs one very large bedroom with one double bed and 2 single, and balcony with stunning mountain views.Both with one common enclosed garden with outside cooking/barbecue and dining areas, beautiful flower beds and trees.

The cottages are set in a secluded area, with enclosed garden. There are patio areas to both cottages, with dining tables and sofas, lounge and dining style. Also, a wood and logs dining table set by the barbecue area.
Trees, shrubs, flowers and a lovely path leading to both cottages. The properties are accessed over a bridge on a mountain spring. Inflatable children's pool available.

The cottages are available on self catering and all inclusive basis.
They are suitable for families with children, pets, and couples alike.
When offered on self catering basis, there is also the use of a car or off road Jeep, both UK registered vehicles. Maps of local area and points of interest provided on request. For full board and holdya trips, we have all inclusive offers, with Dracula's castle visits, fishing and hunting tours, off road and speed boat experience, local atractions visits, please ask for availibility.

Conditions

We prefer to let the holiday homes for one week or two. Any shorter breaks will be considered on first come, first served basis. The same applies to weekend breaks.

We prefer to take bookings via our website, please contact us for more details, this way we ensure we do not overlap any bookings. Please specify if you prefer to book on a self catering or all inclusive basis. Our cottages can be staffed for all inclusive or not for self catering. In winter, we provide a helping hand for making the log fires.

The Transylvania region

"The land beyond the mountains" is set in idyllic settings, surrounded by deep forests and lakes.This is the land visited by Bram Stoker in his acclaimed book Dracula and Cluj, the nearest city is where he passed through in his trip to the Borgo Pass. We follow his footsteps in our Eco friendly holidays which also include: trips with the speed boat, off road excursions with Jeep Wrangler, picking mushrooms and berries,go fishing, go skiing in winter.

The climate is continental temperate, with hot summers and cold winters. Temperatures in summer average 25 to 35 degrees Celsius, in winter -5 to -15 degrees Celsius.

The Cluj / Somesu Rece Valley area

Cluj is the largest city in Transylvania. Having been the capital of the Austrian-Hungarian empire, it hosts a culture which has been described by many as " where the East meets the West". Gothic with bysantine architecture, Orthodox and Catholic churches, art museums, opera and theatres, plus a very cosmopolitan air!

The Somesu rece valley is set in the mountains, 15 km from Cluj, between deep lakes and forests. The vegetation is predominantly oak and conifer trees, the forest housing some good resources of wild berries and chanterrelles mushrooms, abundent in summer. The lakes are great for fishing and water sports, and in winter, there are 2 ski resorts nearby.
