Further details

The Joyce Country mountain and lake district incorporates the communities of Maam, Clonbur, Cor na Mona, Kilmilkin, Clochbrach, Finney, Tourmakeady and Cong. To the west of Lough Mask, beyond the isthmus, it is a hilly region traversed by green valleys and lonely roads, which takes its name from a Welsh family who settled here in 1350. It is an area of great scenic beauty with rivers, mountains and valleys and adjoining Connemara.

The Western Ireland region

Clonbur is an ideal centre for the trout angler as it nestles easily between the two great lakes Corrib and Mask. For the more adventurous, Mount Gable lies just 2 km to the west, and is an easy climb of about one hour's duration. The effort is worthwhile because the views of Lough Corrib, stretching away to the south, Lough Mask to the north and the Connemara mountains to the west, are simply stupendous.

This is one of 2 properties boasting a superb location on an elevated site overlooking Lough Corrib and the Connemara mountains 3 miles from the beautiful Clonbur village. It is tastefully furnished inside providing all the comforts of home with the added bonus of a private pier/jetty, with boats and motors available for rental from the owner. This is an ideal base for touring spectacular Connemara and for larger family get togethers why not also book 10733 which is next door.

Boats and motors are available for rent from the owner for €50 per day or €220 per week.
