"Peaceful cottage in a fab part of Ireland"

I decided to take myself away from everything, so I could finish the novel I was writing. I was looking for a reasonably priced cottage, where I could be in peace, but where there were still people ne… More

"Don't stay here in the winter"

We arrived at 3pm as we were told could not check in until 2pm. The cottage was freezing and Ina had to wait until her husband came home to light the fire to heat the cottage. We had travelled all n… More

This was our first December/January let during a particularly cold season. The cottage had been heated prior to your arrival but just happened not to be on when you arrived in the afternoon as we had regulated it to be on for long periods (except for a few hours in the afternoon and during the night). However, we had genuinely underestimated how long the cottage would need to warm up fully prior to a guest's arrival which is why, although the heat was on almost continuously, it didn't seem warm enough initially. We apologised profusely for this and turned it on continuously over a 24 hour period for the remainder of your stay.

We should like to point out that had your demeanour (from the moment you arrived even prior to entering the cottage) been less antagonistic and negative, we feel this would have been a much more pleasant encounter for all. We feel your expectations are perhaps best suited to hotel style accommodation where communication is at a minimum and you feel that, traveling with a large dog, to leave the accommodation in a very neglected state without saying goodbye is acceptable.

Thank you.

The lodge is layed out simple yet beautiful and have the warm homely feeling to it. You can eat out or simply cook away in the lodge. "Everything you could need for a relaxing vacation!"

We have very happy memories of our stay at the Blue School Studio in Clonakilty. I stayed there with my husband and 18 month old son for a week. It was a perfect location for day trips. The owners had thought of everything we could've needed. The studio is beautiful, clean and well organized and the kitchen is perfectly equipped. If we hadn't taken day trips every day, we would've been happy just hanging out in the studio. We would love to visit again and would highly recommend it to anyone.

"Lovely studio in beautiful Cork countryside"

Very close to Clonakilty and Rosscarbery in Cork. The food in the area was amazing. great fish and chips at Fishy Fishy cafe Kinsale (recommended by our hosts), market at Schull was great. Lovely countryside. Easy drive to Cork, Kinsale, Ring of Kerry. We really enjoyed a day trip to Dingle. (also very good fish and chips) We found the back lanes really interesting too and managed not to get too lost (a sat nav was very helpful).. The studio is very close to where Michael Collins was born. Nicely appointed and very comfortable. The surrounding countryside is lovely in all directions. There is a small stone circle near Rosscarbery which you get to through a paddock. Glandore and Unionhall are well worth looking at. Absolutely picturesque. We enjoyed the food at the Lettercollum Kitchen Project shop in Clonakilty where we were given lots of great touring ideas from the people in the shop, both behind the counter and in the queue. Finding the studio at night was difficult, but would be much easier with sat nav location.
