Large cottage style house with sea view, rolling hills, beautiful garden on a quiet country road. The house is child friendly and pet friendly ( cats are not allowed in the house for allergy reasons). The minimum booking for summer months in one week. There is a large open garden and patio area for out door eating. The house has three double guest rooms to let during July . It is just a 1km walk to Clonakilty town, which has restaurants, lively pubs, is well known for live music sessions, children's activities, small boutiques, tea rooms as well as three large supermarkets and a country markets on Fridays .There is a charming street in the heart of Clonakilty town called Spiller's Lane. It is a 19th century row of stone buildings. Diverse shops, arts and crafts, jewellery. Indian spices, second hand books, surf gear, Irish knits and a chilled tea shop are all part of the mix. The house is also 1km from the pretty fishing village of Ring which hosts two small pubs. Deasy's award-winning seafood restaurant is a fifteen minute walk down the hill or 4 minutes on a bike. Clonakilty is a five minute drive from beautiful Inchadonney beach, which has a surfing school. Check the many coves that surround the area. Horse trekking is available locally. Clonakilty is 50 minutes by car from Cork airport. Rosscarbery is an attractive village with a beautiful beach called "The Warren" & is just 14 km from Clonakilty on the N71 going towards Skibbereen. Timoleague is on the coast road (R600) to Kinsale and is perched on the edge of a long sea inlet. Across the water from Timoleague is Courtmacsherry , a seaside village, a tidal harbour and home to the fastest of the RNLI fleet of all -weather lifeboats.Visit http://www.clonakilty.ie

Clonkilty is a lively colourful small town located 3km from Inchadoney beach. Clonakilty caters for children with the West Cork Model Railway Village located nearby, a leisure centre and a cinema, a playground and beautiful coves and beaches.The pace is slow, people are friendly and know how to look after their visitors. It has a variety of restaurants, lively music pub,, traditional Irish pubs, cosy cafés, two wine bars and a big sky. Its a town of tall spires, towers and historic buildings. There is a great community spirit and locals work hard every year to ensure the town is kept looking pretty. Clonakilty was the first town in Ireland to receive the Fair Trade status and a number of shops, restaurants, cafés and hotels offer a selection of Fair Trade products. The town received the Cittaslow status in 2011.

Along the magnificent coast there are centres for sailing , whale watching, swimming , angling, scuba diving, surfing and other water sports, with horse riding and fishing very popular a short distance away. Other local activities like kid's camps. Island trips -Cape Clear, Sherwin and Hare are among some of the Islands that are a must see. The beaches include Inchydoney- 3km from Clonakilty, Duneen- near Dunmore House is a secluded cove with rocks for adventures. Dunnycove - a rocky little beach protected by a headland. Red Strand- a long beaches between two headlands. Simons cove-near Ring Village and the place to go for an evening swim from the rocks.

"Home away from home!"

Spacious comfortable house with everything laid on and large garden, close to town, beach and amenities. Need a car but not much else as it's all here! Owner very helpful, good experience all aro… More

"Desert - Secluded, but not isolated"

I've stayed at Desert several times and will no doubt be back before too long. It has a fantastic kitchen/conservatory which opens out onto the garden - great for those extra long, West Cork summ… More
