The Central England/Cotswolds region
Diversity is an understatement when it comes to describing the Heart of England's many landscapes - a lovely view awaits you. In Derbyshire, Dovedale offers gentle valley walking with lovely views all along the length of the river.
Across the region the richly diverse history of England is celebrated in its full glory, Winchester Cathedral at Winchester in Hampshire is one of the largest cathedrals in England, with the longest nave and overall length of any Gothic cathedral in Europe.
Whether you want to immerse yourself in Shakespearian verse while you wander around Stratford-Upon Avon, or bask in the splendour of Chatsworth Hall and the forgotten beauty of Hardwick Hall, a holiday in the Heart of England spans centuries of heritage.
The ancient city of Hereford boasts an imposing Norman Cathedral, and is home to many historic treasures including the priceless Mappa Mundi, which is on display here. Shrewsbury is another ancient town, with 660 listed buildings, a Norman abbey and medieval castle making it well worth a visit.
If you want to enhance your holiday with truly fantastic food, then head to Ludlow, the gastronomic capital of Shropshire, described as 'the loveliest town in England'. The town has a lively market, regular food fairs, and speciality gourmet shops, not to mention seven Michelin-starred restaurants!
Culturally speaking, there's plenty on offer at the fascinating living industrial museum of Ironbridge, at Coalbrookdale or at the potteries of Stoke-on-Trent. But the feather in the Heart of England's cultural cap has to be the Hay-on-Wye Literature Festival, which takes place in May.
Clifton on Teme
Fishing at carp pools is only a short walk from the cottage.
Pubs with traditional food are within a mile.
Plenty of wildlife and bird-watching opportunities.
Within easy reach of Worcester, Hereford, Kidderminster and Ludlow.
Tenbury which is 5 and a half miles away is what Queen Victoria called her little town in the orchard, its famous for its holly & mistletoe sales.
The West Midlands Safari park is approx 11 miles away.
The severn valley railway is approx 10 miles away.
Ludlow is a beautiful black & white medival town known all over the world for its food with a crop of restaura
nts , many featured in the national press and good food guides, also the castle is well worth a visit.
Ludlow festival hosts 2 weeks of Shakespear performances in the castle courtyard, usually held at the end of june.
Hereford, Real England, a popular destination for visitors in search of beautiful unspoilt countryside & unriveld hospitality.
The city of Worcester is an ancient city with a modern outlook it has great things to offer from shopping to leisure & history.

"Great family weekend"
My husband and I, two adult daughters, my son in law and my 89 year old Dad had a wonderful 2 nights in Broach Cottage when we went to a family wedding in Tenbury. My elderly Dad hadn't stayed away from home for over ten years and was worried about the weekend, but he had a great time and said that he thought the house was 'cracking'! The cottage is a real home from home - the house is very nicely decorated, the rooms are cosy and all the household things you need are provided. The garden and the views are particularly nice and we had breakfast outside everyday. And as a plus for us the house was great for getting ready for the wedding as it has plenty of bathrooms and lots of mirrors for the ladies!
Janice the owner couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating of our needs. We has a fantastic stay and now we all want to make family weekend breaks a regular thing - but only if the accommodation is as good as Broach Cottage!
I am very happy all your family had an enjoyable time at the Broach,
Thank you very much for taking the time to write this lovely review,

"much more than we expected"
We stayed for a long weekend, and had a wonderful time. It was quiet and peaceful with lots of places to walk and explore, with villages that are only a short drive away. The cottage itself was spacious and very well equipped with everything you would expect. The owners really went the extra mile to make sure our short break was enjoyable as it could be and we got the most out of the cottage and the area.
The pictures don't do the cottage justice, it is a great place to stay. Really hope to visit again soon. We would highly recommend it!

"A BEAUTIFUL LARGE COTTAGE IN THE COUNTRY"
We have just returned from Christmas at Broach Cottage and had an absolutely fantastic time. The cotage is roomy and modern and has panaramic views all round and the owner Janice added some lovely touches to ensure we had a spectacular time. The cottage is warm bright and airy and with all the mod cons required to ensure the Christmas dinner is perfect. We would definately consider returning and recommend to all of our family and friends. The Tally Ho up the road is also very welcoming thanks to the barman John.
Thankyou very much for your great review.Very much appreciated.
best wishes Janice

We stayed here for just under a week in August 2010. The cottage is part old and part new with a modern kitchen and everything you could need. It is quite a big house sleeping 7 people. Janet, the owner was lovely. She accommodated our late arrival and you knew that she was close by if needed. The little extras provided was also quite nice, the tea, coffee, even the washing powder and dishwashwer tablets.
It is in a quiet place with pubs in walking distance but everything else is in driving distance. It was so nice to have such a quiet area where you could look at the night sky and see all the stars and not have any traffic noise.
We are looking at returning in the near future and would recommend it to friends.
Thankyou so much for your wonderful review of Broach Cottage,So pleased you enjoyed your stay .Janice kerby
