The house has been renovated to offer the highest standard of accommodation yet is sympathetic to its ancient origins. The Original Fireplace which is the centrepiece of the open living room, is a large open stone cooking fire. There are four large bedrooms and four bathrooms, a large traditional kitchen and the original double height living room which over looks the meadow and the bay.

There is plenty of room surrounding the house for parking and outdoor cooking and eating.

The Galway / County Clare / County Galway region

Connemara is world reknown for its stunning scenery. This coastal region has miles of beaches and fantastic walks. This is a great area to explore and is a great base for exploring the rest of the west from Clare to Sligo. Clifden a vibrant and cultural town is the capital of connemara and is located one hour from Galway city and forty minutes from Westport.

Clifden area

There are many local attractions aside from the stunning scenery and coast. Clifden town has a population of 2000 and has a great mix of shops, pubs, restaurants, theatre and small cinema. There are always events on in town from live traditional music, live bands, theatre shows, exhibitions, walking tours, pony fairs, local markets. Please see www.clifden.ie. and www.connemara.net. We highly recommend Clifden Arts week in September for something special and the Jazz and blues weekend on the June bank holiday

There are many local activities including a championship golf course, fishing, sailing, horse riding, pottery classes, art classes, heritage sites, shopping !
