A perfect cottage with 4 Star grading. Just right for couples, families and small groups. Lavender Cottage is a newly refurbished cottage in the coastal village of Cley Next the Sea, just four miles from the Georgian town of Holt. It is a classic Norfolk flint cottage dating from the 19th century. It has been exquisitely refurbished and includes Bamboo floors and John Lewis furniture. It is set back in a courtyard setting making it ideallyic and in a quiet location. It has unlimited wifi and HD freesat.

The cottage is well equipped with everything you need for a home from home. It is a two bedroom cottage which sleeps four. The furnishings and fittings are to a high standard. It has a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, a washing machine in the utlility room and a large fridge freezer. The living room has a wood burning stove with some wood supplied in winter, it has a large flat screen tv connected to freesat and dvd player as well as an ipod dock. It also has unlimited wifi broadband (which is not bad signal for the area).

The two bedrooms have good quality mattresses, a twin and a kingsize master bedroom. There are Egyptian cotton sheets and soft fluffy towels provided for use in the cottage. The master has a combi flat screen dvd player. There is a travel cot and soft mattress.

The bathroom has a thermostatic controlled shower over the bath which means hot water is constant. The cottage has powerful electric radiators which keeps the cottage at a lovely temperature in the winter.

There is a small private outside area over looking the gardens of the other properties inside the yard. There is a table and chairs for 4 and a weber bbq. The marshes and open views to the beach access is only 20 yds away so there is plenty of outside space very close.

The cottage is a stones throw from the lovely stoney beaches of Cley, it is a short walk out to the beach over the marshes. There are plenty of sandy beaches close by. It is perfect for families with many attractions close by from steam trains and beaches to a sea life centre and animal parks. It has attaractions for adults which include stately homes, musuems, fishing and bird watching - one of the most stunning areas for birding in the world. One of the best visitors centres is walkable from the cottage.

Reclassified as English Tourist Board 4 stars again in 2013 for the 3rd year. Book your cosy winter break in this wonderful part of the country. Wood burning stove. Now booking 2014 holidays and breaks.

The East Anglia region

Norfolk is known as the big blue sky. It is a mainly flat landscape with many areas of outstanding natural beauty. It has an amazing mix of coast, countryside and gorgeous 100 yr old plus villages. Much of what England has to offer. It also is one of the sunniest climates in the UK. It has amazing nature and wildlife and is famed for some of the best brid watching in the country.

The cottage is very close to the rocky beach of Cley and a short drive from many sandy beaches that the area has to offer. There is plenty of access to outdoor activities from kite surfing to walking the pedders way, golf, fishing and horse riding.

It is also a short drive from the broads and the city of Norwich. It has many local attractions and many move a short drive away for all age groups.

The area is very accessible to all local bird watching sites which the region is famous for.

Cley and the surrounding area has many attractions to offer. The village itself has many tea shops, a smokehouse, deli / general store and a pub and a restuarant. 4 miles away is the quaint Georgian town of Holt which has a supermarket, department store and chemist as well as many eateries, food shops, delis and take aways. There are also good restuarants at Wiverton and Blakeney which are a short drive away.

The area has many attractions for both adults and children. Ranging from Holkham hall and a military museum to an Amazona zoo, children's farms and more than one steam train. There is also Norwich castle, Bewilderwood and many other unique places to visit.

It is also famous for its food. From two Michelin starred restuarants to good whole some food at the local fruit picking farm, the area has some of the best eateries and produce the UK has to offer, much of it home grown and home caught. It has a wide variety of local shell fish in season. Samphire, eggs, fruit and veg can be bought from the side of the road in season.

The beach is close by to the cottage, only a 10 minute walk to the local stoney one. Sandy beaches are a short drive away.

"Excellent Value"

Firstly, booking through Trip Advisor is a very efficient process. Cottage is great value and very well appointed. The only warning is I am not sure that it is for four adults. It is small, and for… More

"Every thing we hoped it would be"

We had previously stayed at the Moss's other cottage (Sea Lavender) in Burham Market and as this was fully booked were delighted to take the option of some time to discover Cley Next the Sea, - its enchanting, a lovely village and fabulous surroundings, plenty to do for us oldies and I will certainly be back with the grandchildren.

We were talking about taking up bird watching seriously and this is the place to start, so much to see and the nearby centre certainly makes it easy.

There were lovely places to eat, some no more than cabins but don't be put off the sea food was out of this world. As was the lamb we brought home.

As to the cottage it was of the same high standard as Sea Lavender, none of these local cottages are large but they are cosy and the Moss family have updated it to modern standards with high quality equipment and great taste. When we entered the cottage we thought that the kitchen was far too small to be comfortable but it is so well appointed that it didn't seem to be a problem and our friend Penniw produced her usual five star meals with no complaint. For families or friends or indeed couples I would have no hesitation in recommending Lavender cottage.
