Close to the chalet is Thorpe Park, offering all its usual facilities, and day passes can be purchased. Pleasure Island Family Theme Park is also located on the seafront at Cleethorpes, with its many wild rides giving a great day out for children and teenagers too. The area boasts a superb miniature steam railway, boating lake, golf course, great sandpit and play area, leisure centre, cinema, bowling alley and show arena featuring concerts throughout the season.
The Cleethorpes area
Cleethorpes centre is 2 miles away and has some great pubs, bars and restaurants, and of course with Grimsby next door has the best fish and chips ever. There is an old fashioned Pier, donkeys on the beach during the season, and hundreds of slot machines and arcades to complete the picture.
Sea View street in the centre of Cleethorpes is a lovely street with a great deli, clothing boutiques, super cook shop, soft furnishing shop and great gift shop too. Steel’s Corner house restaurant in Cleethorpes is an old fashioned restaurant serving the best fish and chips for miles around! A must to visit after a long walk on the beach. Anyone enjoying walking or cycling will find places right outside the front door, after all it is a conservation area.
CAPE COD CHALET is situated only 100 yards from the fabulous sandy beach, with views over the sea and the intriguing First World War Haile Sand Fort, which guarded the Humber Estuary from attack. Directly across the estuary is Spurn Point a well known nature reserve. The Fitties itself is also a nature and conservation area.

We often use self-catering cottages but Cape Cod has to be the best! Wonderful sea vistas from the close-by sandy beach with a surprising array of wildlife that [even] included a local evening vixen. We had a few daytime family and friend visitors to share our christmas. All were enchanted by the design of CC; One even suggested that E Hemingway must have helped! We are very much looking forward to our return in August. . |

Guestbook for Cape Cod Chalet
In the chalet is a visitors comments book and here are some of the comments from last year....
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the area - the kids loved playing in the pools left by the receding tides. We liked the homely touches - it was obvious we were staying in someone's home. Dennis and Jacqui, Northumberland.
The Chalet has been a great base to explore - it is beautiful and we have loved staying. Sarah and Mark, Essex
Wonderful........place and people - thank you. Jo and Aaron, Rotherham
Thank you for the opportunity to stay at Cape Cod Chalet. We are very greatful for your thoughtfullness and would love to revisit this experience again in the near future. Paul and Kathy, Canada
Bring back the good old fashioned bucket and spade holiday! We had a wonderful time - a bit of old and New England style - thank you for letting us have the use of this fabulous chalet. Bill and Claire, North Yorkshire
What a lovely Chalet! We had a fantastic break, lots of lovely beach walks. Love the style of the chalet - hope lots more happy times will be spent in Cape Cod. Jane, George and Betty, North Lincolnshire.
The Chalet has been perfect, after a lovely warm welcome from Liz. We loved the attention to detail and the quirky seaside style. The place was much more spacious than we expected too, which has been great for the children - and wonderful to be so close to the beach. I would definately recommend to others staying here to walk along the beach, get the steam train to Lakeside and hire a rowing boat. A walk along the sea front to the cute little shops in Sea View street and then a lovely lunch! We will certainly be back. Rich and Katy and Tim and Lou, West Yorkshire.
Liz, you have a gem of a Chalet, thanks for the opportunity to stay. Pat and Colin, Warhingham, Surrey
