Home description
The condo is suitable for families, couples and groups of friends. From the private balcony there is a wonderful, wide view of the coast, from Treasure Island up to the end of Sand Key. Dolphins are often spotted in the sea in front. It receives direct sunshine from about 2pm.The sunsets are often spectacular.
The condo is on the third floor, is air conditioned and there are ceiling fans in most rooms and it has an exceptionally light and airy feel. The master bedroom and living room have sliding glass doors which span the width of the rooms and which open out onto a large balcony. The master bedroom has an en suite bathroom and dressing room. All rooms are large and well furnished. The living room, kitchen, hallway and bathrooms and bedrooms have ceramic tiled floors. with rugs in the bedrooms and living room. There is a beautifully fitted, 'eat in' kitchen which is well equipped and has a view overlooking a marina on Boca Ciega bay and the intercoastal waterway. and there is a separate laundry closet. There is a large coat cupboard in the hallway and abundant storage space throughout the condo. There are pictures and paintings on the walls in most rooms. The whole condo is in an excellent state of repair.

The Florida / Florida Gulf Coast region
As it is situated on Sand Key, the region is dominated by the ocean and the abundance of wild life, especially birds. There are many miles of fine sandy beaches - shell collecting is a favourite activity. Swimming in the warm, clear water and snorkling are much enjoyed. The condo is right by Madeira Beach, with direct access to the beach from the condo. It is a 25 minute walk from St John's Pass, a waterway connected by a bridge to Treasure Island. Here is an old fishing village which has become a popular spot, with a boardwalk for viewing wildlife and boats going through the pass to the open sea, and there are many attractive small shops, open air restaurants and bars. The condo is a 30 minute drive from Tampa, where the old cigar making district is of historic interest , and a 20 minute drive from St Petersburg, where the world famous Salvador Dali museum is situated and the interesting area known as 'The Pier'. The Suncoast Trolly buses travel the length of Gulf Boulevard at regular intervals, to the end of Sand Key to Clearwater. Busch Gardens, a popular funfair and theme and wild life park, is about a 35 minutes away by car,as is Ellenten Outlet Mall, and the drive to Disneyworld/ Seaworld/Universal Studios in Orlando takes about 1hour 30 minutes. De Soto park, a National Park renowned for its beautiful beach and historic fort are 15 minutes drive away. Caladesi Island, and Honeymoon Island, a wild and uninhabited National Park where armadillos,sea turtles and nesting ospreys may be spotted, can be reached after a 20 minute drive and/or a short boat ride.
Clearwater / Madeira Beach area
Madeira Beach is a fairly spread out locality with the Gulf of Mexico on one side and the intracoastal waterway on the other. There are numerous small restaurants and bars within walking distance of the condo, similarly supermarkets, and other little shops for buying souvenirs, an internet cafe, and a store for CD/video hire, and a shop where fishing equipment can be hired. There is a library to which visitore can belong temporarily for a small fee. Beach umbrellas and beach loungers may be hired on the beach itself, and there is also a nearby spot where wind surfers and pedalos may be hired at certain times during the day.
At St John's Pass one can hire boats of all kinds, or take boat trips to view dolphins -and maybe a manatee -sunset cruises and dining cruises are very popular. There are several public fishing piers. The whole area is a haven for wild life lovers, especially bird watchers. The Sea Bird Sanctuary is situated a coupleof miles down the beach and is popular with visitors. For the more energetic there are motor and sailing dingies for hire. Also, on nearby Treasure Island is a well equipped tennis and golf centre where there are many excellent clay tennis and an 8 hole golf course ( sports equipment can be hired on site) and a children's play area. At several shops in the are cycles may be hired and some visitors take the opportunity to follow the scenic Pinella's Trail, a car free road that can be entered and exited at several points and which travells the 40 mile length length of Pinellas County.
Daily Suncoast Trolly passes can be puchased - a trolly stop is close to the condo and to explore further afield a $12 pass is available for unlimited travel for a week. Cycles are carried free of charge on the beach trolly which goes every half hour from Clearwater Beach to St Pete's Beach and beyond, and stops just outside Ocean Sands.

Fly to Tampa, Orlando or St. Petersberg. Hire a car or catch shuttle. 30 minute drive.

Further details indoors: The master bedroom has a queen sized bed and opens onto the balcony and has the same gloroious view enjoyed by the living room. The balcony is furnished with a sun lounger and a patio table with 4 comfortable chairs. The master bedroom has an en suite bathroom and a walk in closet, and a TV /video with CD/video recorder, also an extension cordless telephone with an answerphone. The second bedroom has two queen sized beds and a cot in an alcove, and also a TV. The large second bathroom has a walk in shower.
The kitchen has a large, American style fridge and the sink has a waste disposer. The range has 4 plates anda large self cleaning oven. The kitchen table can seat 6. There is a phone in the kitchen. A breakfast bar separates ithe kitchen from the dining area. The living room, with a window wall overlooking the sea, has a double sofa bed and several comfortable chairs, also a large TV and CD/ video recorder. There is a desk with a PC with wifi internet access and a portable plug in radio/CD player. There is a dining area at the kitchen end which has an elegant, extendable dining table which can seat 8.
Further details outdoors: The heated, outdoor swimming pool and jacuzzi are in a gated area with sunloungers and showers which opens directly onto the beach. There is a parking space on the ground floor. The parking area has key entry gates which lead to the beach, the heated swimming pool and jacuzzi area and the BBQ and shuffleboard area. The large, fixed BBQ may be used by guests, also the shuffleboard area. There is a lobby on the ground floor, close to the double lift, entry to which is by code, key or answerphone.
There is a management team at the condo daily, based at the management office , and a watchman on duty at night. Ocean Sands has maintained palm trees and flower beds and fountains, making for attractive surroundings.

NB: Prices may be subject to change at the owner's discretion.
An initial deposit is taken of £200 or $400 upon booking, which is also a deposit against loss and damage at the condo. This is non returnable if the holiday is cancelled but usually it will be returned to guests at the end of the tenancy, after checking and final cleaning by the maids. and return of the keys. For bookings of more than 2 weeks the deposit is higher.
There are special rates for rental periods of more than two weeks and very special rates for periods of more than 4 weeks. The tariff includes use of towels and bed linen, electricity and telephone charges (local calls only), and final cleaning of the property.
