Home description

This Floridian apartment has 2 bedrooms, the master has a USA sized Kingsize bed with en suite, TV and able space for clothes, comprising of 2 large built in wardrobes for has clothes, and beach equipment, beach chairs, umbrella, kites, pool play toys etc. The guest bedroom has twin beds and a closet for clothes. Next door is the guest bathroom, with a bath, shower and toilet. Towels are supplied. There is a cupboard with a washing machine and tumble dryer. The kitchen is fully fitted and has a microwave, cooker and nice size USA fridge freezer with an ice making machine.

In the dining area, is a matching white wicker glass dining table and 4 chairs. Behind is wall to wall mirror, showing you the reflection of the ocean and the beach from the dining area. In the living area, there are 2 matching sofa's, one is a pull out bed, which is for occassional use. The sofa's are big enough to sleep on. There is a TV and DVD player, wicker coffee table and able side lighting. The views of the ocean and the beach are wonderful from this area. The balcony leads off from the living area, and the panaromic views of the ocean and the beach are indeed breath taking!! The balcony has matching table and luxury chairs. The balcony offers you fabulous views of the sunsets, which Florida is know for and dolphins which swim along and are easily seem from the balcony. The white, flaky, soft, sand stretches in both directions, out of sight and the beach is clean and safe. The beach has a daily inspection and is cleaned by a tractor, raking the beach, both facilities are daily. The beach holiday is at its best here, offering serenity, tranquility, safety, miles of white, soft, sand and a slow rippling of gently waves. There is a private outdoor pool with a hot tub and plenty of loungers for laying in the gated pool area. Again, you lose time on Madeira Beach, enjoying the scenery and environment of this peaceful beach. Undercover parking for one car.

The Florida / Florida Gulf Coast region

The area has approximately 15 miles of white, flaky, sandy beaches to walk along. There is the War Veteran Memorial park for visiting. For shopping there are plenty of shopping malls and plaza's. There are big shops for food shopping all nearby. In John Pass village, there is a boardwalk and lots of shops and restaurants for gifts and clothes. For outlet shopping visit Ellenton and go over the Sunshine bridge which has an amazing view of the bay.
The biggest bonus of a holiday in Madeira Beach, Florida which is known as the " sunshine state," is the all year round sun.

Clearwater / Madeira Beach area

Night life is very busy in Clearwater, which is a 10min taxi ride. In John Pass village there are restaurants and groups or duets play in the outdoor bars near the boardwalk. This area is more quieter and relaxed, but ideal for families and adults of all age groups. There are parks, a car journey away about 20 minutes ride for walking in. Tampa is 30 minutes drive, here is the aquarium,Tampa Water Park, called Wet and Wild and Bushe Gardens. If you fancy a 2 hour journey, you can visit the Disney Parks, it is very easy to reach, only 2 main roads, with plenty of restaurants to stop off on route. The beach offers a more relaxing holiday, the disney parks are great, but they are tiring, one a week is recommended.

How to get there

I have booked my flights from the internet. I have traveled with BA straight into Tampa airport and American Airlines. I have also used Dial a Flight, who booked me with Thomson and Britannia. These journeys are fine, as the in flight entertainment is excellent and the meals good as flight meals go. You can upgrade and have wider space seats. I have done this too and enjoyed every minute of it.

For cheaper flights I have travelled to Sanford or Orlando International Airports. Again flight journey was good with in flight entertainment. I traveled economy and found the journey very smooth. The only down side is the 90 minute journey to the condo/apartment in Madeira Beach. But, the journey is very straight forward with basically only 2 main roads to travel on. Plenty of restaurants and petrol stations for pit stops. Have done this trip many times with adults and children. Plenty of sight seeing and wide easy to use roads and directions. Just remember to drive on the right hand side of the road at all times!

I have used Dollar and Budget for car hire. Each time I pick up at the airport, no non-sense dealing with these companies and the cars I have used have been great. I choose on the internet and make my booking usually separate from the flight booking. Not sure if you get a better deal booking with the flight and car. Check out on the internet first how much a car would cost for the duration of your holiday. These companies are very customer friendly and extremely helpful. I have had good experiences with them. However, check how much the cost of the car hire is before you agree, make sure you have not signed yourself up to all sorts of insurances and the car hire is then extremely expensive. Print out your quote before you decide and once you do confirm print the documents also and take them with you. I did have an expensive bill with Thrifty Car hire once, they took me to the cleaners and I did not notice as I paid by credit card until I had arrived back in the UK. I did complain and they did refund half, but this was still not acceptable, so I do not recommend them.

I have also got a late booking and travelled with one stop. The plus to this is the shorter journey to Philadelphia or Charlotte, then had a coffee in the airport and caught the next flight to Tampa. This flight usually is only a 2 hour journey. Traveling with a stop over i enjoyed as I had shorter journeys at one time and I got to see other Cities, although I was a plane. Possibly preferred if adults only are traveling.

I am sure you can visit places like New York first and then get a flight down to Tampa, but this experience is still on my wish list. The plus to this would be just the 6 hour flight to New York and from New York to Tampa again the flight is only about 2 hours. I have no experience of this yet but will update the website when I have done this trip.

Flights can be booked from Manchester, Cardiff, Luton,Heathrow, Gatwick and now Cork in Ireland. Specials are shown on the internet, they are worth looking out for.
Whatever way you decide remember you can only take one bag on the flight, a laptop and a camera. Toiletries are best packed in your case. From experience have a suitcase for each child as this will allow you more luggage weight, not usually required on the journey out and usually very handy on the journey back home to the UK. Bedding, linen, clothes, boots, bags, are all cheaper in the USA and they have a huge amount of variety.

The interior of this condo/apartment is very relaxing. The decor is homely, comfortable and clean. The owners regularly update the interior and we have are own cleaner who does a wonderful job keeping the place clean and tidy giving you the feeling of home from home, but with beach views. The balcony is very inviting for that evening drink and chatter whilst listening to the waves meander in and out. The complex has only 5 floors with 5 condo/apartments on each floor. We are on the 3rd. A lift is on each floor, as well as stairs. The pool is cleaned daily and heated. The hot tub is relaxing and a great place to watch the sunset from. There are palm trees in the complex and pool area giving you that tropical atmosphere. The condo/apartment is fully equipped offering you all your facilities for that Florida holiday. Nearby is John Pass village, about 5 mins walk along Gulf Bvld or along the beach. Restaurants are in John Pass village and on Gulf Bvld. A 24 hour garage is nearby with a small shop.

The Chambre' is well maintained, with a caretaker who cleans daily. There is an outside toilet near the pool area. Nearby in John Pass village, you can hire jet ski's or book an ocean trip. Fishing trips are popular, and boat trips on the pirate ship for children are popular too. Para gliding is available for those that love heights. Outside you can play on the beach which starts from the car park. No walking to the beach, you are on it!! Private gated entrance to the beach and the sea. There is visitor's car parking outside in the parking area, but guests have one parking place undercover.

Further details

To make a reservation, I require your address, number in the party and a deposit. Payment is by credit card. The deposit is 25% of the rental and is required at the time of booking. The balance is due 4 weeks before the arrival date. A car is recommended. in case of a cancellation. A refund is available is you cancel 45 days before the arrival date. If you cancel less than this the payment is non-refundable as the owner may not be able to rent the condo/apartment. If the owner is able to re-book for those dates, the refund can be given back at owner's discretion. There is an $80 cancellation fee for administration. There is a shuttle service from Tampa airport to Madeira Beach, if you decide not to hire a car. The journey from Tampa airport is approximately 30 minutes. The views across Howard Franklin bridge to Madeira Beach are awesome.

Conditions

Email the owner for all bookings. There is a "visitors special" which is the same price for next year on repeat bookings. A discount for monthly bookings of 10%. The condo/apartment is booked from Saturday through to Saturday. Arrival is after 4pm and departure time is 10.00am. From July through to December it is possible to book mid week. Ask the owner, giving your dates and we will try to accommodate you.
