About the home

Bergerie de Sabloun is a charming property, comfortably and lovingly restored retaining many original features and has the additional advantage of staying cool inside the stone walls.

The long farmhouse dining table is ideal for spending quality time with the whole family and also shares space with the lower level lounge. The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable, some with king size beds and en suite bathrooms.

Outside, children will enjoy the large grounds and the gorgeous pool, whilst the grown ups will love relaxing in the shade of the fig tree or dining al fresco on the vine covered terrace

A wonderful location for a relaxing holiday and if you manage to tear yourself away from the villa, there is also plenty to do nearby with Mediterranean sea just 45 km away.

The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur / Var region

The Var department is situated west of its famous neighbour Côte d’Azur. With its beautiful landscape of both mountains and sea and its sunny Mediterranean weather it is a popular holiday destination all year round.

Along its 300-km long coast, you will find some stylish seaside resorts like glitzy St Tropez and Ste Maxime, as well as some smaller but equally beautiful and charming resorts like Bandol or Le Lavandou. The beautiful Iles d'Or (Porquerolles, Ile du Levant and Pors Cros) are also well worth a visit and can be reached by boat from La Tour Fondue near Hyères.

Inland, you will find delightful and unspoilt hilltop villages, green oak forests and further to the north, the breathtaking Gorges du Verdon with its many water sports and activities. A visit to the Abbaye du Tholonet while the monks sing their evensong can be a most relaxing break from the bustling beaches. The Var region is particularly well known for its Rosé wine and a good fresh Bandol is well worth a meal in a seafront restaurant. The local Gastronomy is bursting with fresh herbs and full provencal flavours

The Claviers area

Claviers is a perched village located on the tiny D55 road winding through the pine forests just south of Bargemon. Nestled in these beautiful forested mountains, both Bargemon and Claviers have outstanding views of the surrounding hills right out to the Mediterranean, and each other, to the benefit of both.

This little village has been preserved in its natural state and boasts a medieval church. The village is built in a semicircle and looks out over a valley where the river Riou glides slowly past.

The present village is built on a rocky ridge surrounded by hills of olive groves and topped by pines and green oaks. In the typical little streets one can see ancient dwellings with sculpted doorways and gates of stone.
The inhabitants are faithful to their traditions; this is a village of quality where the accent is true, the olive oil is reputed, the vineyards well kept, and the fragrant wild plants all evoke Provence.
