The Tasmania region
Tasmania is an island at the edge of the world (yes it is part of Australia). Small in size, about the size of Scotland, with only a population of 500,000, however big on experiences. Engage with wilderness and wildlife, cruises, historic railways, majestic rivers, walk along pristine deserted beaches and relish fine food wines, beers and awesome ciders. The food is fresh and local.
A beautiful, diverse and abundant paradise, right on the doorstep of mainland Australia.
Should you decide to put down your book and do some sightseeing, some of the popular attractions are only 10 minutes away. The Beaconsfield Heritage Mine, Platypus House, Seahorse World and many Tamar Valley award winning wineries on the wine trail.
You also should not come to Tasmania without indulging in the food. Ashgrove offer an amazing selction of cheese and accompaniments, Angrove Chocolates, The Honey Farm, Christmas Hills Raspberry Farm and all this before you even begin on the wonderful bakeries and local farm produce. Many places sell at the farm gate.
