The East Anglia region

Well situated for many places of historic and cultural interest such as; Cambridge, Bury St Edmunds, Lavenham, Saffron Walden and Thaxted. It is within easy reach of Newmarket for racing and related activities. There is plenty for the kids to do too, such as Hedingham Castle and steam railway, Duxford Imperial War Museum and air shows and Kentwell Hall and its mediaeval themed activities.

If you enjoy walking there are plenty of good walks in the area. Traditionally the climate is not too extreme and the annual rainfall below the national average.

Clare is a very pretty small town with a beautiful church, which is one of many in the region built during the years of prosperity from the wool trade. The road from Clare deeper into Suffolk takes you through a wealth of lovely villages.

Other local attractions include the Thaxted Music Festival and Cambridge Folk Festival, Duxford Imperial War Museum, Newmarket Races and many other fascinating cultural and entertaining pursuits.

The region also contains a variety of National Trust and English Heritage properties and places of interest.

"Lovely property in beautiful countryside"

Our family of three generations stayed in this very well converted barn which is extremely spacious and well equipped. It is in a rural location but well placed for exploring the area. There are many facilities included and although the weather was not good during our stay, we were able to use the large garden to play badminton between showers and the games barn had a lot of use with some very competitive games of snooker and table tennis. The hot tub in the garden was very popular with both adults and children, even in the rain. A very pleasant holiday provided by Pippa and Peter who were most welcoming and always on hand if there were any queries and they provided a very nice sponge cake for our arrival which was most appreciated.
