Beautiful Gites with six bedrooms in total, and sleeps 12 people. The Gites are furnished to highest standards.La Petite Maison sleeps 2 people and Chez Tournesol sleeps 4. Chez Hiboux sleeps6. The WIFI is available with English TV and DVD players as well. Shared pool and private gardens are also there for relaxing and enjoying the holidays to the fullest.

On the Atlantic coast, between the châteaux and the castles of the Loire Valley and the Bordeaux vineyards, lies Poitou-Charentes, one of the sunniest parts of the French western coast. This region is peaceful and beautiful with lots to see and do for all the family or couples
Inland, the scene is one of serenity, with vast horizons and wooded valleys, the soothing tranquility of canals, the valley of Vienne, the foothills of Charente and the Cognac vineyards.
The Civray area
Futuroscope, cinematic theme park, Poitiers;Monkey Valley (20 km - lovely day out for children). a must for families Poitiers, Limoges, Angouleme - cities with much of interest. Cognac for Hennessey, Remy-Martin, Martell distilleries. River Vienne for river activities. Charroux - medieval town. Civray (14 km) - beautiful Romanesque church. thriving market with lots of stalls.. Motor Racing circuit at Val de Vienne (20km). Way-marked, secluded local walks. Good restaurants easily reached.

We have stayed many times with Sharon & Aaron and have sampled all three gites. Every time we go we find improvements and extra touches of comfort - nothing is too much trouble for these thoughtful hosts. The rare combination of rural calm and easy access to good shops and decent roads makes Gites du Marigne an ideal base to taste another way of life or explore Poitou-Charente or the Limousin. We've (nearly) always been blessed with gorgeous weather and enjoy swimming in the large and sparkling pool, even late in the season. Please don't tell anyone else about this place - we want to keep it to ourselves! |
