This charming house is well furnished in the French country style, with French windows opening onto the terrace from both the sitting room and bedroom. It is in a tranquil position overlooking vineyards and the local windmill. The garden is private and there is plenty of outside furniture. You may hear a nightingale or see hoopoes!

The world famous vineyards of the Medoc are nearby on the Chateau Route, such as Rothschild, Margaux, Beychevelle, and the friendly local vintners will be pleased to sell you their wines - several within walking distance. The Atlantic beaches such as Le Pin Sec and Montelivet are under half an hour drive away, and Hourtin lake has sandy beaches with windsurfing and water sports. Soulac is a seaside town with lots of restaurants and atmosphere. The beautiful city of Bordeaux is an hours drive and St Emilion is worth a visit for a day out.

Go as foot passengers on the ferry from Le Verdun to the seaside town of Royan, or from Lamarque to the citadel at Blaye.

Or just relax on the terrace or in the garden!

There is a restaurant within walking distance, but no shops. The nearby town of Lesparre has supermarkets, banks and a market on Saturday morning.
