This was the most breathtaking holiday I have ever taken ,the views, the villa, the arear. After a very difficult year I wanted to take all my family somewhere nice , well it wasn't nice it was magical every bit of it , I want to live there. I can't express enough of what a truly lovely place it is, far better than the pictures on the web, everyone should go and stay to give them back a spring in their step. |

We have just returned from a family holiday at this villa. The location was amazing situated at the top of hill surrounded by the Umbrian countyside and very private . The sunsets were out of this world and our hosts were very accommodating. The steep and rough gravel drive to the villa was a difficult task and a four wheel drive would have been an advantage. The feature we liked the most was the pool which was large enough for our family of nine ,although it was located at the rear of the property and accesed by 50 very steep steps.I would advise caution if you have very young children or relatives with limited mobility. There are sufficient places to eat out in the near vicinity but should you want to dine in as we did most days,we found it was difficult for our large group due to the condition of the cooking appliances available. The pizza oven and the portable BQ were in no state for use, and the range oven door would not close so it took a long time to cook and caused the living area to over heat (There is no A/C) .There was a tiny portable grill/oven but no microwave which would have been useful. Some of the outdoor furniture urgently needs to be replaced as does the children's play equipment which we could not let our toddlers use for safety reasons. However this did not spoil our stay, we did have a lovely time but I think that some upgrading of equipment/appliances and refurbishment would have made our stay more enjoyable. Response: Interesting to see how guests differ in opinion. The previous guest,an artist from Ireland claimed our kitchen was the best she had worked in.We want to know our guests are happy and when within half an our of your arrival, you decided the american fridge was not cold enough I immediately provided an extra fridge at 10p.m, which you later decided wasn't needed. In the house instructions you would have seen that the gas oven had a full size electric grill, effective with the click of a button, and the small handy toasting grill was an extra for snacks. I'm sorry when you were there the door wasnt flush with the oven, if you had mentioned it it would have been sorted immediately, but it didnt effect cooking or upset anyone else. THe following guests used the barbecue every evening , when I went to clean the pool a father feeding his 3 sons said he was in heaven. The piazza oven is a genuine dome perfectly functioning brick oven. You need to know how to use it. A neighbours tenant saw it and after checking the kitchen booked our villa for a month next season with the very purpose of entertaining at home. Having brought up 8 children in the villa i feel it is child orientated, the pool was built up steps with a gate, not only to exploit the panorama, but for safety reasons. The walk up to the pool is a healthy 2 minute ascent through rosemary lavender and rose bushes. There is a bannister for the elderly. There was a screw missing from an outdoor table. if our clients let us know we are proud to immediately replace or repair. If there are problems such as lighting the barbecue we can offer immediate assistance. We just need to know. As for the microwave, we would not feel proud to provide one. We promote a holiday in a home that reflects the region, genuine healthy food and traditional cooking. A microwave doesn't fit this equation. Lastly the road is a bumpy country road, tarmac and cement are forbidden in this aesthetic untouched area of Umbria National Park and we use a regular low based car, though a higher chassis is more comfortable. |

Perfectly central to the highway exit and Orvieto where there is a great supermarket and train station which is great if you want to do day trips to Firenze and Roma or need to pick up guests. The sunsets are beautiful it is a peaceful place to stay and unwind 7 days was not long enough next time 2 weeks definitely. Great to have a huge fridge for a change and internet access. Response: Thankyou very much for taking time to offer a review of your stay. It means a lot to hear our customers appreciation. Preparing the villa for guests is a family run affair and we like to please customers in every way. |
