The Castilla y Leon region

When they come to our ears Salamanca references come to mind images of Square and University Roman bridge and cathedrals, students and palaces, Casa de Las Conchas, Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO and the European Capital of Culture ...

But Salamanca, fortunately, is much more. In his lengthy territory remote valleys hide refuge for many species, peaceful villages with excellent examples of pure traditional architecture, sedate woods for strolling and contemplation, historical buildings blocks of military, civil and religious preserved in the course of the times, cheerful and boisterous parties, processions and celebrations full of life and fun ...

These are areas that we invite you to discover on your visit.

To do this, we present the provincial mosaic reflected in its tourist regions, where we suggest a new way to experience these wonderful places, more intimate, closer to the roots. Do not hesitate and plunge into this adventure.

The rich heritage of the capital does not diminish the valuable resources artistic, cultural and monumental that come together in the province.

Most attractive our peoples hide amply justify inclusion in the travelogue. Of historic, religious architecture, civil and military, and countless works of art come together in a rich popular culture replete with rituals and customs and traditions evident in daily chores and festive celebrations.

The hotplates offer dishes and food of unparalleled quality and nature provides simple materials in the hands of master craftsmen, at work become unique and unrepeatable.

But there again, we invite the traveler to feel the true essence Salamanca provides coexistence with people and places. So, never feel in a strange land that will be part of herself.

Ciudad Rodrigo

Varied landscapes that make up this territory Salamanca joins Portugal and Extremadura, southwest of the capital.

Their peripheral and border have kept, perhaps like no other, with a very high environmental quality, architectural, cultural and ethnological just modified the hand of man. The arrive of the Agatha, the Rebollar Azaba Valley or the elevations of the Sierra de Gata are good examples of this.

As historical border disputes space has been marked by walls, castles and fortifications that tried to scare the invader. With more or less luck have provided time after personality to the region.

Ciudad Rodrigo

Any path or course must necessarily from Ciudad Rodrigo for a visit to this gem of the west is absolutely essential.

Its walls of perfect workmanship, which reached its final appearance in the eighteenth century, lies a valuable artistic heritage that has earned its declaration as a historic. Be sure to visit the Plaza Mayor and City Hall, the Cathedral, the Castle of Henry II of Castile (Guesthouse), the church or the innumerable palaces Cerralbo that ennoble its streets. And if you can choose no better time than when the city celebrates its most: "Carnival del Toro".

The Rebollar and Sierra de Gata

Travel the south of the region and enjoy the natural area of ??the Oak thicket and the summits of the Sierra de Gata. Along the route you will discover interesting landscapes, forests and meadows dotted with Roman roads and bridges, forts, dolmens, chapels, shrines and numerous villages where lies the wealth of these lands: its people. Get close to them and enjoy their ancient traditions, customs and festivals.

From Fuenteguinaldo to Navasfrías

Do not miss Fuenteguinaldo parish church with its beautiful XVI century altarpiece, the work of Lucas Mitata, and the nearby fort of Irueña. In Bodón can admire more works by sculptor mentioned in the hermitage located just outside the town, and purchase some beautiful textile crafts or ceramics. Rebollar enjoy folklore in Robleda and Peñaparda and if you prefer, head to the southwest corner of Salamanca, Navasfrías, where you will find attractive and enticing offers to spend a memorable weekend in borderlands.

"Incredibly comfortable."

It's a very comfortable house. The main room is incredible with a big bed and nice bathroom.
The living room and the kitchen are amazing with all the commodities you could think for your own home.
Besides, you can fin a pool and a coffee machine at the playroom.
The upper part of the house is cute. A nice place for resting after a long day of trips around the region.
I think I like everything. Very recommendable for everybody.
