GAZZE is a large villa with private garden. It is possible to rent part of it or altogether, sharing the pool and the stunning views over the mountains, the hills and the sea!

The Marche / Abruzzo / Abruzzo region

Abruzzo is situated in central Italy and this allows you to travel within few hours to Rome, Naples, Florence, Bologna, Perugia, Ascoli Piceno, Tremiti Islands, The Gargano, Le Marche, Molise.

The Apennines mountains and the four national parks account for most of the territory of Abruzzo. With over a third of its land protected by law, Abruzzo has the largest national parks and reserves in Europe and is known as the 'Region of Parks'. The highest point of the Apennines in Abruzzo are the Corno Grande (2912m), Monte Amaro (2793m) and the mountains of Laga (2458m). The Abruzzo coastline stretches for 150km along the Adriatic sea where beaches vary from the white sandy to the rocky.
Abruzzo is a land to be discovered, a kaleidoscopic region with historical towns, national parks, thermal baths, beaches, archaeological sites, caves, lakes and peaks on one hand, and food, wine, local products (Parrozzo from Pescara and saffron from Navelli), extra virgin olive oil, folk festivities, traditional handicrafts and goldsmith's art (Presentosa) on the other.

Abruzzo is renowned amongst Italians for its excellent cuisine - local produce organically farmed is used to cook the authentic, traditional Abruzzesi dishes served in the local restaurants and trattoria's.

The Citta Sant'Angelo area

Citta Sant’ Angelo to the north of Pescara boasts panoramic views of the mountains and the Adriatic Sea. The small town has a medieval character in which there are many historical buildings of interest from the Roman ruins to the baroque churches. The narrow streets rise up the hill giving a special charm typical of a little town.

The sandy beaches of the Adriatic are just 10 minutes from the villa. Abruzzo has a very long coast line of pine-fringed, clean, sandy beaches that stretch for more than 15 miles. The shallow, warm waters of the Adriatic are ideal for safe family bathing (keep in mind Torre di Cerrano beach!).

Nearby is Pescara, a modern city with a full range of facilities including an outstanding international airport and a large tourist marina, considered to be one of the best marinas in Italy.

Walking/rambling:
You can reach the Gran Sasso & Maiella National Parks in just 40/60 minutes. The National Parks cover one-third of the territory of Abruzzo, so there is an abundance of walks and trails of various lengths and levels of difficulty. You can enjoy majestic mountain scenery with a wide variety of flora and fauna, and, if you are lucky, you may spot a wild bear, wolf or chamois.

- tour of Loreto Aprutino and Penne;
- Lake of Penne protected by the WWF, near Penne;
- tour of Città Sant'Angelo;
- Castelli and its surroundings - pottery and high mountains;
- Calderone glacier (the southernmost glacier in Europe);
- Along the sheep-track;
- Monastries and Hermitages;
- Maiella national Park;
- Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga National Park;
- main historical towns/cities: L'Aquila, Teramo, Chieti.

Motorway Exits:

driving on the A14 Bologna-Bari:
exit at "Pescara Nord - Città S. Angelo", follow the signs for "Silvi" and after 2 km you will see a sign for "Treciminiere" (there is a roundabout). Follow the road for 2 km to "Torrino del Sole".

driving on the A25 Roma-Pescara:
follow the signs for "Pescara", which will take you on to the A14 and exit at "Pescara Nord - Città S. Angelo", follow the signs for "Silvi" and after 2 km you will see a sign for "Treciminiere" (there is a roundabout). Follow the road for 2 km to "Torrino del Sole".
