Citta di Castello is medieval walled city, and a thriving modern community where, if you want a stay-at-home holiday - you'll find everything to sustain your retreat. If you want to explore the area, Gubbio, Assisi, Perugia are all within easy reach. Arezzo in Tuscany is an easy drive, and Florence can be reached in a couple of hours.
Most visitors to Casale Sole find plenty to do and see, close to hand: long lunches on a terrace looking down on creation from the crow's nest community of Monte Santa Maria Tiberina. Flea-market shopping in Sansepolcro, the birthplace of Piero della Francesca - and still home to many of his works.

Further details indoors: On the ground floor there's an en-suite bedroom; a sitting room and spacious living kitchen [seats 8] with marble topped integrated units, range cooker, winter wood burning cooker and antique dresser. Off the kichen there is an utility room and french doors to the covered terrace. On the first floor there is a lovely bedroom suite with dressing room and marbled bathroom. The library with computer and 3G internet acess, lots of books and games leads to a magnificent drawing room with hd TV with a full Sky package and traditional stone fireplace. The third floor provides a suite [the dressing room has a bar billiard table] and en-suite bedroom.
Further details outdoors: Approached via a private drive from a tarmac road the stone farmhouse stands in its own land. The generous covered terrace with its flower boxes has seating for 8 around a marble table [with gas BBQ]. Set in an olive grove the saline pool [16 x 6m x 1.5 with steps into the water ] is reached via a flight of steps from the house with 8 sunbeds and a shaded pergola with seating and is landscaped with mediterranean flowers and herbs. The house and pool have extensive views over the patchwork of hills and fields of the upper Tiber valley. Whilst secluded the house is only a mile from the village and 10" from the vibrant town of Citta di Castello and close to the magical hill towns of this part of Italy
