Casa Tersalle is a traditional farmhouse situated in stunningly beautiful countryside on the border of Umbria and Tuscany. and is within easy reach of local shops, bars and restaurants. Nearby, waiting to be explored, are the wonderful mediaeval hilltop villages of Citerna and Anghiari and the walled towns of Citta' di Castello & Sansepolcro. Spend an enjoyable time discovering the Italian culture, art and tradition of towns like Assisi, Perugia, Arezzo, Siena, Cortona and Florence, all within 1hr 30 mins.
The farmhouse is on two floors, with one bedroom on the ground floor and two on the upper floor, and is suitable for up to 8 people, providing flexibility for different sized groups. It offers exclusive use, however many people are staying. For 2-4 people the ground floor only is available (1 bedroom with a double or 2 single beds + living room with 2 single beds); however, an extra room on the upper floor (with 1 double or 2 single beds) can be made available on request for a small extra charge. For 5-8 people, the booking is for the whole house.

The Umbria region
Umbria is an enclave of tranquillity, a rural region in central Italy, dubbed the ‘Green Heart of Italy’. Life here is laid-back and peaceful. The well-known towns of Assisi, Perugia and Orvieto are all in Umbria, as well as many smaller mediaeval hilltop towns and villages, and Lake Trasimeno with its safe bathing beaches (and the place where Hannibal gave the Romans a lesson in military strategy!).
Casa Tersalle is an ideal choice if you are looking for comfortable accommodation in the Italian countryside, somewhere to relax and enjoy a taste of the natural beauty and the many sights that this still unspoilt part of Italy has to offer.
Citta Di Castello / Monte Santa Maria Tiberina area
If you enjoy nature and walking, there are plenty of possibilities in the area, superb views and an abundance of wildlife to enjoy. Within easy reach, in addition to the many attractive mediaeval hilltop villages, there is Italian culture, art and tradition to be found in towns and cities such as Assisi, Perugia, Arezzo, Siena and Florence.
In the nearby village of Monte Santa Maria Tiberina you can take in the spectacular views of the surrounding countryside and enjoy a cappuccino or cold drink at the friendly bar, where you can also buy superb local 'pecorino' cheese. In Citta' di Castello you can wander around the town soaking up the atmosphere of the old centre and perhaps stop awhile at a café in the 'piazza' to watch local life over a 'gelato' (ice-cream) or espresso.

Further details indoors: All rooms are light, spacious and comfortable. There is a bookcase with plenty of reading matter including general reading, guide books and information leaflets about things to see in the area, as well as a comprehensive information folder which we have put together for visitors.
The New Zealand/English owners, who speak fluent Italian and work in Citta' di Castello, live in separate accommodation (the former animal stalls!) and are available for help or advice if required. (We are also happy to share a bottle of wine with guests on the terrace, if invited!).
Further details outdoors: There is a large sunny south-facing terrace where you can sit and relax, eat, chat and while away the time whilst taking in the magnificent views of the surrounding fields and small lake, with a backdrop of green wooded hills. There is also a small garden below the terrace - garden furniture, sun umbrellas and barbecue are provided.
Conditions
1) Contact the owners direct, or our UK agent (01273 673440), to see if the dates you require are available. 2) If they are, a provisional booking will be made and held for 8 working days. 3) A booking is confirmed upon receipt of a deposit of 50 percent of the total rental, paid in euro by bank transfer. Bank details will be provided at the time of payment. 4) The balance must be received not less than 8 weeks before the rental commences. 5) When a booking has been made within 8 weeks of the start of rental, full payment will be required to confirm the booking. 6. Upon receipt of the deposit, 'How to find us' details will be sent, plus any other necessary information.

Please note that the definitive prices are in euro and the pounds sterling prices above are only indicative.
A rental period covering two seasonal rates will be charged at the rate applicable to each week of the rental period.
The first rental rates listed are intended for 5-8 people and the second for 2-4 people.
The charge for one extra bedroom (groups of 2-4 people) is 60 euro per week / 30 euro per week for the winter period (2009) and 70 euro per week / 35 euro per week for the winter period (2010). This can be decided on arrival if preferred and then paid for in euro.
Weekday arrival/departure (with min.1 week booking, extra days charged pro rata) can be arranged by negotiation. This will incur a supplement of 60 euro (2009) / 70 euro (2010).
Central heating and firewood, if required, will be charged according to usage and will be payable in euro at the end of each week of rental.
For rental periods of 4 weeks or longer, we will be happy to discuss a reduction on the above prices.
There is no extra charge for: linen, towels, electricity, gas for cooking & hot water, baby cot, final cleaning.
