Comfortable accommodation in a wonderful setting. This is the place to come to get away from it all yet it is within easy reach of all amenities if required. Suitable for 2 families or a group of friends with separate bedroom /bathroom areas. Open the shutters and windows and gaze across the valley or sit on the sun drenched terrace with a good local wine and a book planning the next days exploration!

The Umbria region
Umbria is a region of Central Italy, bordered by Tuscany to the west, Le Marche to the east, Lazio to the south and Emilia Romagna to the North. This region is mostly hilly or mountainous, and described as the 'Green heart of Italy' as so much of its landscape benefits from the Tiber River and valley.
With rolling green expanses of olive grove and vineyard, woods of beech, oak and pine and craggy mountains, it earns its name, but has some lovely towns, and is famous for its hill towns. Spring is a beautiful time of the year when all the wild flowers, broom and acacia trees are in blossom. The days are usually warm, whilst a wood-burning stove is a welcome sight in the evenings. Summer is long days with a clear blue sky and temperatures of 30+ degrees, but cooling down in the evenings making outdoor dining a pleasure. Autumn has long sunny days and cool evenings. Winter usually has crisp cold nights and many fine clear days with occasional snow falls.
Completely landlocked, Umbria’s beaches are on the expansive Lake (Lago) Trasimeno in the north of the region. Towns and villages in Umbria include Perugia (30 mins from the house), Terni, Spoleto, Assisi, Gubbio, Orvieto, Spello, Todi, Narni and Foligno. These and Lake Trasimeno (boat trips, wind surfing, child-friendly beach), are nearly all within a 1hr drive from the house. Cortona (the location for the film; Under the Tuscan Sun)(50km), Arezzo (the location for the town shots in the oscar-winning film La Vita e Bella) (36km) are all less than an 1 hour drive away. A variety of small hilltop towns which include; Torgiano (70km) - Wine museum of the Lungarotti Cantina, Montefalco (97km) – Famous for its textiles and wine (sagrantino), Bevagna (90km) – (restaurant Osteria del Podesta) and Trevi (95km) are all worth a visit. Florence and Siena (100km) in Tuscany are about 1hr.30 minutes away. Rome is about 2.5 hours drive.
Citta Di Castello area
Citta Di Castello is a beautiful hill top town with lovely shops and restaurants.
5 minutes drive from the house is Fattoria Caldese which has a 9 hole Golf Course, an Equestrian Centre, a Health Spa with an indoor swimming pool and a restaurant.
For art lovers - follow the 'Piero della Francesca' trail in Arezzo, Monterchi and Sansepolcro, or visit the superb galleries in Citta di Castello or Perugia. Why not bring your own paints, for you'll be entranced by the soft, ever-changing light. For music lovers - there is the Umbria Jazz festival in Perugia in July or for 3 weeks in August, the Festival of Nations series of concerts in and around Citta di Castello. For lovers of churches - there is an ever lasting supply! Assisi is a must, but also visit Bevagna. For nature lovers - enjoy the countryside, the wild flowers and the bird life.

Further details indoors: The accommodation is split over 4 floors. Rovigliano has 2 large double bedrooms and 2 large twin rooms so comfortably sleeps 8 people. We also have a sofa bed in the sitting room. All bed linen is supplied and changed once a week. There is a large bathroom on the top floor and a shower room on the bottom floor. The Kitchen has a cooker, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, toaster. In the sitting room there are a variety of books and games to keep you amused. We also have a CD player with a selection of CDs. We have a couple of DVDs if you want to bring your own portable DVD player.
Further details outdoors: Casa Rovigliano has two terraces. One by the front door - ideal for breakfast/lunch/dinner and one at the back of the house ideal for sun bathing. There is a barbecue. There is a inflatable pool 10ft diameter x 3ft deep.

You will receive a welcome pack upon arrival. An Italian couple look after the house and are available 24hrs. Information pack/guide books in the house. Change overs any day but not Saturdays (Please contact us if Saturday is essential)
Conditions
No pets allowed. No Smoking. Deposit of 25% of the total property rental is required at time of booking. Payment in full is due four weeks before arrival. Reservations made within four weeks of the start of the holiday must be accompanied by payment in full.

The prices are fully inclusive of gas, electricity, laundry and cleanng. Heating (if needed in the colder months) is charged at £10 per day. Logs are included.
If you book 2 weeks between 1st June and 31st July you will receive a 10% discount on the total cost.
Guestbook
The accommodation is excellent. A well equipped kitchen. The lounge was very welcoming in the heat, which was cool and we were entertained with board games, books and a CD player. The children thoroughly enjoyed the small pool. We all slept well in the comfy beds and the house felt very homely. - The Ketteringham Family, Woking. July 2008.
